Well had another few shifts on the car and the interior is almost finished! Just ready for paint and then can finally bolt in all the bits.
Original Battery tray cut out and a plate welded in place
Regulation wise we keep standard seat mounts but are allowed to weld in plates to move them...
Well some of you may recognise my name or my previous ph1 track/race car
Unfortuanilty to fund the new race car...
Anyway. The new thread is on my new build, 56plate r53 cooper s that I’m building to compete in the new championship that’s starting up here in scotland.
As this is a...
197 cams get times to 8 degrees advanced on the inlet, exhaust stays standard.
This is not grp n timing.
Just so you make sure they're timed right [emoji16]
We have all just literally fitted cats as we all had decats, they weren't very strict last year but they seem to be picking up on it this year. Every car post 1999 must have a cat.
@Braveheart
Considering the issue SD have had with the old cage and designed a new I doubt they've made a balls up. I've used my cage with harnesses and hans and it was fine
I've got the new safety devices cage (upgrade from the old) brilliant cage. The lower harness bar is actually better, as with my very low seats the original was a little too high.
Right,
Safety devices
Why the f**k are all the mountings different.
This cage could of so easily been mounted to the original points.
8 hours work to cut out and install new ones for no reason!!
Well excellent service from Safety Devices. Daniel has been a pleasure to deal with. My old cage was collected Monday, and I had my new one delivered today! Lovely quick turn around.
Now to finish cutting the feet out!!
Cage looks great. Did you have the previous cage?
I'm down for an exchange, my old cage is being collected tomorrow.
Can you get some photos of the top dash showing how it was cut for the cage?
Was literally doing this tonight.
4 axle stands, 2 bits of wood.
String between the wood, even spaced, sizes equal at the front and back, reading off the front and back of the wheel.
Handy to have a second pair of hands to read tape or adjust toe so you don't have to keep going up and down...
Well with a good shift on Monday, with a hand from a couple mates, the car is back together!
With the grp n timing it runs like a bag of nails. And my alternator has packed in so I haven't driven it! I'll be doing that tomorrow before it goes for mapping at the weekend.
Couldn't agree more.
How you can turn round and now say it doesn't comply without a new rule is beyond me.
I can understand them making new ones to avoid any doubt, but I've competed last year with this cage, with no issues.
I'll be racing again this year, with the same cage, surely worth a...
Engine times up to group N, gripper box fitted, ready to lift back in [emoji51]
Also had the awards doo and picked up my third place in class!
Some famous guy was giving them out!
