I thought that about the Trophy, but as a whole, i couldnt get rid of it for £2.5k, so i sold the car without wheels/interior for £1200 and sold the rest of the modded parts for £3k. Total price = £4200, ie more than most considerably lower mileage ones lol.
Not fitted it yet Ben, only turned up yesterday lol ... will be a job for the new year now i think. Wireless controller is quite cool though, just like a little key fob. All reviews suggest that its an excellent modification though, so just treat yourself, not like you'd lose any money if bought...
Was waiting for the M3 comparison ;)
To be honest, the M3 would absolutely r4pe the R32 speed wise, there is simply no comparison, except off the line in the damp. The M simply pulls and pulls and pulls, you dont really realise how quick it is until you are able to fully unleash it abroad (like...
Not really, just fitting all the parts i've stockpiled (Haldex controller arrived today), then maybe getting some DS2500 front pads in time for the Bedford trackday in Feb. After that, ill just enjoy it really, certainly not spending 8 grand on boosting it lol.
I filled it from '5 miles remaining' last night and it cost just over £70 - that usually gets me between 280-330 miles so roughly the same as a Focus ST really. As Gally says though, they are great VFM these days!! Much more so than the Gti, & usually come with a far better spec. As far as im...
If the belts havent been done & its a £500 car, there's no point spending another £500 doing them imho.
Just wait till it blows up and bung another £250 engine in it.
Where do you sit when you drive the car though lol?
Exterior of the Golf is filthy, but the interior is immaculate - i have to look at it for 2.5 hours a day.
I'd have Bilstein/H&R over Spax everyday of the week personally. CS is the only forum where the latter is mentioned as anything other than the FSO Polenez of coilovers. I'd make the assumption that that is because they are cheap and fully adjustable for all of the race engineers on CS that do...
I love green FRS' tbh, but the wheels/spacers/stickers do upset me a tad.
Needs some matt black Compomtive MO's instead i think, then it would be 150% more epic:
Mine are the optional R32 seats, so exactly the same as yours bar the alcantara centres. Am liking your steering wheel, DSG gearknob/gaitor, satnav & climate panel, might have to retrofit them to mine at some point. Certainly cheaper than buying a new R ;)
Cheeky f*ck, as Vish says, my legs...
If i had a pound for everytime i said that on here id be able to fuel a Clio 200 for my daily commute.
Best mods i did to my Trophy, in order:
Tuition - years of it at uni.
Decent buckets/harnesses - so you dont fall out the seat when cornering.
Cage - so my head didnt get squashed in the...
Moving to Weybridge so literally around the corner from work, whoop whoop. Hence the recent expenditure, because ill be saving money on fuel. Pre-planning/spending FTW Sod using public transport lol.
Just read about the seats circuit Scrooge, will still make the airbag light flash for a few...
Yeah, tis a shame, although i am doing the Passionford day at Bedford if you're going?
<3 heated seats, cant be without them now, was a 'must have' in all the e46's ive owned lol ...
Thought you might ;)
Its not amazing, but ive owned 330's/M3's for years, so anything around 30 ish is ok...
Not sure on the next Llandow day im afraid, dont have any more holiday days available until April :(
Have also done Llandow twice now, which tbh, is more than enough really, although it is quite amusing in the rain!!
Recaros wise, not that much adjustment really, just height...
Just a bit, i love this car :o
So last night, 8 days earlier than expected, the chap selling the Recaros delivered them to me from Ipswich. Cost an extra £60, but saved me the hassle of driving 250 miles after work in the cold & dark!!! Tbf, it would have cost me that in fuel anyways, so cant...
Thats 100% down to the 'paint protection' process described below imho, sod covering a car with the sperm of a young unicorn at £400 a tub when dirt & RC6 dust does the job just as well ;)
Glad to see the car is going back to track spec though, its most happy when its scraping the door handles...
Lol, it was said in jest, im hardly a brand snob, i drive a Golf. Although for me, there is something magical about owning a Lotus :)
Ive driven them both, Elise around the 'ring in fact. Would have the Lotus every time, just that little bit more pure imho.
The point of the car is the delicate...
Red controller? Didnt realise they did different ones for the Gen1? Is that just a bit more hardcore, like the diff between 'Race' and 'Sport' modes on the Gen2 that im buying?
Here's a teaser anyways :p
That does look lovely! Although my only concern would be that S1 Elises did drop down to £6k or so before they started going back up again (mate bought his for £7k 6 years ago, now worth £9k easily lol), so whilst it should be ok, your money would be safer in a S1. S2 is obviously easier to live...
Well, for £11k you could just about get a Z4M roadster ...
987 Boxster-S is probably just affordable for a miley one, or a 986 is easily attainable.
As a 2nd car though, it would have to be the following...
