Cheers!! Most people ive spoken to have said its the best mod they're done, so thought i might as well give it a go. If its not to my taste (very doubtful) ill just sell it on again. Tbh, i just want to go sideways out of junctions :o
Nah, not permanent, still only engages the rears when...
As its winter & they are cheap, it would be Elise all the way for me, but only to sell it in the summer, then buy something else lol.
Z3M Coupe is pretty depreciation proof, but hasnt your dad got a roadster?
Clio V6 - i could only have a Ph2. That blue interior :dead:
S2K - i keep being...
Little update, suspension seems to have settled down now so its nearly the same all round. Had the tracking checked at Micheldever Tyres and it was slightly out, so £20 later and all is well, also had all 4 wheels/tyres re-balanced as the previous monkeys that fitted the Contis hadnt done it...
Eurocarparts are the importer for H&R btw, so when you pay £950 to Ktec/Motorsportworld/Venom, etc, they simply phone up ECP and they courier them out to you lol. If its just the spring platforms you need, you should be able to use any generic coilover ones (all they do is adjust the spring...
Re: My new project - 106 GTI
Oh they definately fit! I had Gti6 calipers, clio DS2500's, braided lines, GTi6 master cylinder and just standard rear stuff and it stopped obscenely well!!
Re: My new project - 106 GTI
Yeah if you fit the bigger DS2500 pads from the 172 into the Gti6 calipers they will allow you to lock your wheels at 70 and do an endo.
Thats because Houx is now part of the circuit, whereas the rest of the pikey campsites are a free for all ;)
'Tis why our security is slighter better ... well until they all bugger off and its becomes Hellmand Province on Sunday evening.
I say this every year!!! But no-one believes me lol.
Problem you have now is that with 1st Tickets (& the other booking providers im sure) all of their customers that stayed in Houx in 2012 have preference for 2013 (like we did), so the only way you will get in is if people/groups drop out...
Is that one of those 1.2 Special Edition things that they sold about 3 million of to under 21's 10 years on 0% finance?
Looks nice tbh, i have a secret liking for the VXR, although i do always get confused by these lookylikeys.
Whilst i can see where you are coming from, a Trophy has completely different suspension to a normal 1*2, so id like to think that the OP was considering the change from a 'suitable spring rate perspective' rather than just lowz.
1. What is the damage?
2. How can you go to a garage with a 'budget' to fix something? If it needs fixing, it needs fixing surely? You cant change half an alternator for example.
3. You drove off without checking the car, without doing a visual inspection before/after with the garage, how will...
Sounds pretty decent then!! Good skills on the padding, nothing worse than whacking your head on a roll cage. Tis bad enough doing on the way to Tescos, let alone whilst you're barrell rolling down the nearest B-road. Hopefully neither will happen lol.
Ha ha, doubt it. You should see me try on skinny jeans and daps. You'd lol.
If you do change the suspension, just make sure you get something that it similar to/better than OEM ride wise. These cheapo AP's ive got on the Golf are just as soft as the standard stuff, so whilst i haz the lowz...
Re: The New Motor
Fair enough though, same reason why the Trophy went :(
Simply never used it with the Golf being good enough for 98% of driving opportunities.
Looks rather serious lol - what cage is it?
One thing i would suggest however (unless you drive around with a helmet on all the time) is to cover all of the front section with heavy duty foam padding. If you whack your bonce on that in an impact without a helmet on it will cause some serious...
Looks thimply thuper Luke
Needs lowering a tad though, although id probably just jump straight in with a decent matched spring/damper combo or go for proper coilovers. Springs will just make the ride worse.
Will have to have a nosey at the next meet. Although im no where near cool...
Why? Half the point of french hot hatch is cheap fun. Sub 30mpg for a car that isnt even remotely fast is very poor.
From what i understand, those that get 35mpg sit at 60mph, above that and it plummets.
I posted this up in another thread a month ago. Great buy for £3k imho, company cars are usually pretty well serviced, & it'll just be motorway mileage anyways.
Personally i prefer the spec of the R27 and its slightly improved future resale value. Cup chassis is also essential on the 197 imho.
In addition, the Recaros on the other one you have posted look knackered.
Considering i sold a '57 plate Nimbus cup with 30k miles, new 'box and recaros for...
