Like i said in Le Mans, everything goes down hill when you get to 30 ;)
Re: comparison to a 330i, cant say i ever actually just took any of them out for a drive down any back roads lol, but they are very capable cars, i just always felt that thethey were more suited to faster sweeping A roads...
Personally, i didnt get on with the steering in the non-cup pack one, & whilst still overly light, the cup pack did improve the speed of response imho. If you want comfort, buy a 3 series :rasp:
Funny you should mention that, ive just back to back tested them down my 10 mile 'test route' :clown:
Took the clio 1st as it is my 'toy' afterall ... all the usual things that i love about the clio are there: epic brakes, quick once its on the boil, good feedback through the wheel, able to...
Ive used ds2500's in the past, but am now on my 2nd set on CLs - obscene stopping power, & perfectly fine from cold as well.
My old rc5s dust ate my wheels, but the rc5+ are no worse than standard.
Rc5+ everytime imho
Its stickied in the Nav section lol:

ccfj1 is your man, i paid £30 for updated operating system & maps from him. Full postcode, speed cameras and night mode :)
You dont need an upgraded satnav unit for postcode search, you just need an internet connection and a dvd burner.
The software update is free and on m3cutters :)
Trophy owes me about 13 grand over 2 years/15k miles - thats for absolutely everything that ive ever spent on it.
Including trackday costs, repairs, fuel, insurance, you name it, its included.
Personally, the only other cars id place in the R32's segment are the 130i and A3 3.2/S3 - both aimed at very much the upper end of the hatchback market. Not just from a performance perspective, but pricewise as well. Certainly, when specced up, it would have been very easy to spend £30k+ on...
I wouldnt necessarily says its boring, perhaps just a little more 'mature' than the usual choices of CS users - I am however, considerably older than most CS members lol. For me, the MK5 R32 is aimed at those that still wish to have a 'hot hatch' but need something a little more...
Id keep an eye on the 'miles left to empty' as well then Gally.
1st sign of dashpod failure is a dodgy fuel gauge that doesnt go down properly with usage.
2nd sign of failure is running out of petrol on the way back to Scotland ;)
As per *Badger* black grilles are only to be fitted by those who live in Bradford, when combined with shadow chrome CSL's and tintz.
4 cylinder grille is fine however.
The following mods will make you quicker than 9/10 of CS members on track:
Decent side mounted bucket seat & harness.
Carbon Lorraine RC5+ pads. Standard discs or Brembo HCs.
Castrol Response Super Dot 4 brake fluid. Braided lines are up to you. I notice no difference.
Dogbone mount for...
Love them!!
When i was younger i always thought they were more Ferrari, that the god damn awful Mondial thing that Ferrari were selling at the time ...
Old housemate had a turbo. Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiideways.
Can safely say that i dont look into crash safety when buying a sh1tbox french tin can.
Id rather be driving the 182 and have a smile on my face when i fly through a hedge backwards.
The 197 would still be sat at home as id run out of money to keep fueling it.
Circa 28-30 at the moment, so im expecting it to be similar to the auto 330/manual M3.
Although gearing wise, it does seem lower at motorway speeds so im finding myself cruising about 5mph lower (75-80 leptons).
Anything over 3k rpm and the mpg seems to drop off quite quickly (like in the...
Couple of reasons really:
1. I wasnt looking for a new car, i just bought this as it was cheap. The Mk5 represents very good VFM compared to the MK4.
2. The MK4 whilst looking lovely on the outside, is very dated inside, & quite poor to drive imho. Id just buy a TT3.2.
3. MK5 is a considerably...
Mainly because the price of the 3dr is too high, & the 5dr just looks minging lol.
Wasnt looking to change from the 330i really, just this happened to come up at the right price :)
lol. I'll keep you posted ;)
Just phoned VW to find out how much the DSG oil, Haldex & brake fluid change is. Answer?
25-30% more than the Gti. Purely 'because R32'. No other reason.
Booked it into my local specialist instead. Muppets.
