Treated the Bean to some Meguiars NXT Tech wax 2.0. Thought this shoot shows it off nicely.

Just soaked them in a solution of warm water and a some Vanish powder for a couple of hours, scrubbing with a nail brush every so often. Didn't completely remove them, just released them from bottom bracket, pulled them out as far as they would go and secured with a clothes peg.
