This is really putting me off painting my engine cover🤣. Looking at that I'd say heating the paint wasn't a good idea. I'm no expert though but I know @mossyv6 has had some great results with rattle cans so I'd do as he said and just warm the lacquer a bit.

I'm the same. I had the front bumper off the other day and I was looking at all the muck and telling myself I don't need those parts to be all clean and shiny. Luckily my will is strong and I left it filthy and put the bumper back over it all😂. The ac rad was a bit crusty though🙄.

Oh, that is odd. I'd start by removing them and seeing if there's any identifying marks on them. Seems very odd to wire in stereo gear at the Front of the car for the sake of an earth point. And why two of them? Maybe they were for some dodgy drl's or something?

Hmm someone has been having fun in there. If you rearrange the wires so they match the side that works OK that should fix it I reckon.

If it's just one you've damaged I'd be scouring ebay for a spare rather than trying to match paint. Or get a can of silver and paint both wheels on that side so one doesn't stand out as different. Or just have all 4 refurbished professionally.

Got any pics? The dark grey they used on the mk3 was a body colour so it's possible others are too.

With cup suspension they are a great drive. Unfortunately most people have blinkers on and can't see past the R26, the same way Clio buyers can't see past 172 cups or trophys and think any other model isn't any good. Stick with it mate, I think you've got a great car👍.

Get a thread up for that. Capsicum was only available on the 225 cup and the Clio trophy. The 225 Cup is very rare in capsicum, there was one on Auto Trader recently for £1500 I was tempted by just because of the colour.

Yep that allows them to retain the minimum thread engagement in the bracket. Obviously your caliper machining is going to be more expensive once a machine shop see those tolerances!

So the bracket design is different now then? I thought of recessing the top side of the caliper for the cap head boots to sit lower and allow more room between the wheel but didn't have the balls to do it on my calipers 😂.

There's only one connector per side. I can't see why the wrong onw would come on though as the dipped beam get their power through the ballast. The wiring for the high beam is totally seperate after the connector. Ony way they could be doing that is if the connector is full of corrosion. Pull...

Bump. Awesome thread, s**t job. My hands are cut to ribbons and my neck is twisted to an angle I don't think it will recover from. But female status is restored to the car as it now blows hot and cold again. Should have done this years ago😂.

Indicator bulbs and dodgy reg plates don't mean it was once a track car though do they😂. How many owners hasa it had? I'd assume it has been someone's pride and joy for many years and probably was a bit of a concourse show car. At least it's not got a tank of 3 year old fuel in🤣.

Was this on facebook for sale recently? I recall someone questioning painted fog surrounds on a low mileage 182. Anyway, it's not got enough wax on it to justify that price. Bloody dreamers😂.
