Was nice to meet a few faces behind the forum names last night, quite a few people turned up at Tescos. As said it was a shame the seafront was busy so the parking spread out Scrooge i didn't realise you there, some really well looked after Clios there last night. Will make more of an effort to...
I might take you up on that offer, I leave Runcorn about midday and takes 4-5hrs to get back. Gonna be a long day as I'm getting the 5am train up there
From day one it's always been my intention to achieve more power whilst trying to keep costs at a sensible level. The kit itself was a good price, a couple of hundred more to complete, yes remapping the stock ECU was the next step to keep costs down. The more we progressed into the build it soon...
The reason why i took it to him, 100% trust in his work. Ive known of him for many years through RTOC and seen what he's done with his own cars let alone starting his own business and what he's done with his customer cars
If you have all the kit together, a spare complete weekend and some friends on board to help put it together, that's all it would take. It all just bolts on essentially. Such an easier way to get extra power than the turbo option, you don't have any dealings with the exhaust side of things, no...
Incey, i imagine you are more clued up on things like this than me. My limited dealings with what's going on goes like this.
Supercharger running boost well in it's efficiency,
stock bottom end known to take the bhp on low boost
mapped correctly, fuel, ignition etc
The right ingredients to run...
Out of interest what power did it go to at 10psi on yours if you were seeing 250 @6/7psi? Assuming on a completely stock bottom end?
Ali the key to everything was buying the kit 2nd hand at £1450, then buying the parts to finish the kit. Everything else like service items and extras was by choice.
If you can find a complete or near as dammit complete SC kit for a decent price then go for it. if you have a healthy engine to bolt it to, again all good. The unknown quantity is the condition of the supercharger (mileage, abused?) if you have history and paperwork, sorted. I think I'm still...
Just flicking through the paperwork at costings and prices of parts, they come into various categories and only relate to this build thread. The main part of the kit itself is from K Tec, purchased 2nd hand it was 90% complete.
What came in the kit that I purchased:
Rotrex supercharger with...
I'm at work at the moment but I'll take the time to make a more in depth reply this evening. Just really happy to get those figures last night. There's more to say later but for now...... I'm pretty chuffed with how its all turned out, the build and the end figures
Ok, copy and pasted from the e mail Chris sent me yesterday evening
I've managed 256hp and 205lb/ft. Its just peaking at 10.5psi at 7300rpm, drops to about 9-10 once it's done a couple pulls and got warm. I've put limiter at 7400rpm. It should go well :)
So there we go, all the work done...
***BIG UPDATE***
I don't know why but I've not checked my e mails all day, I've literally just checked and lo and behold I have an e mail from Chris at EFi Parts sent at about 7pm Monday evening.
A brief e mail stating a power and torque figure for the PB :quiet: :)
It definitely needs a wash which doesn't help the colour being filthy. I'll resist the urge to ask where it's at with the work as I've not heard anything from Chris yet.
Tutuur if it's back before FCS I'll do my very best to be there
It should be ready 31st May the latest, I'm seriously considering FCS which I believe is the weekend after. I wouldn't mind it on the stand if I do go but the decision will be a last minute one. Are you going then?
Really appreciate the comments Craig :) and thanks for taking the time to reply to the PMs regarding questions on the conversion, it's been a big help.
I sent Chris an e mail last night about a couple of things I needed to let him know, I had a reply today. I thought the last part of his reply...
Weirdly.. Not yet, well a little. I think a bit more when I hear some feedback from Chris at some point during the mapping process (if he does that, I don't know) It hasn't sunk in that within 2 weeks time I'll be getting into a Clio with potentially 250 horsepower. I have absolutely no idea...
Chris is wiring in the Adaptronic into the OE loom as a piggy back for the boost side of things (ignition and fuel) the stock ECU stays to keep most of the OE 182 factory features.
He's mapping from scratch and believe he'll need to check the map for every scenario (cold start, running from...
It nearly came to that Scott. I was going to buy a Renault Laguna diesel estate with a towbar for £600 last Thursday, use this weekend then sell it on or get shot of my other Laguna and keep the estate. I would have just let you use it mate no worries.
I'd say hire the Transit transporter, the...
A friend of a friend is a car dealer and had a SsangYong Rexton 4x4 available to let me use. His mate has asked him to sell it while he's in Spain so he let me borrow it

Beggars can't be choosers, it did...
Well, after the dramas of the towing vehicle no go earlier this week I finally managed to get another sorted yesterday morning. I picked up the trailer after work yesterday, put the Clio on and left this morning at 7am. 11 hours and 468 miles later I'm back at home. Had a good chat with Chris...
With the Meg 225 injectors and Walbro pump mine turns over but won't idle, far too rich. I dont want to or have the bits to swap back, would just rather trailer it knowing I haven't coursed any damage to the engine. The trailer and towing vehicle were booked in advance, it's just put a spanner...
I know what you mean about not trusting people with my car, especially giving the keys to someone I've only met that day. I also had a bad experience with Shiply when they tried to pick up the RB 182 I bought a couple of years ago, they damaged the front cup splitter trying to load it on the...
