To increase ride height at the rear, put more spacers under the spring.
IIRC they come with a 5 & a 10mm spacer.. So you can have 0 (lowest), +5, +10 or +15mm.
Mine I think went with the 10mm so I had a chance to go either way should I see fit.
I haven't done anything to it since fitting !
When you say it's been polished - what exactly were you using to do this..
Hopefully not something like AG Super Resin "Polish" but something with more of a bite !

Take them out, from the inside. Clean the outside surface .. Silicone/something similar all around the hole. Put the thing back in. Clean up any excess and shut the bootlid.

As for mods.... trying to make a 1.2 clio 'hard' ... honestly, only you will care what it looks like.

IIRC you can buy pairs of springs for not-a-lot.. like £50 ? ..
Are you getting issues on the road with Tigger like bouncing..? Can only suggest you drop the damping down a few clicks perhaps and see what happens.... maybe the whole system is too firm..
Failing that - buy a new pair of...
