Think it’s a qashqai mate.

Cars a 2011 c class. Makes this sound, only when turning left. It’s sounds like metal on metal, and it’s intermittent. Can go several days without hearing it. Only noticed after having a wheel changed (the offside rear, which is where the noise seems to come from). Any ideas?

Worth reading. It’s a known issue to Samsung and they have procedures in place because of it. I imagine it’s an inflammatory reaction, or inadequate materials/construction that allows bacteria a nice save haven to develop in.
