Has anybody on here actually got a clue? Look at my profile the cars gotta be made higher because it scrapes, its got an exhaust, iv listed the mods, ino theres no point but its a question i wanted answering, as no one on here has anything constructive to say why all waste your time? Don't worry...
no sorry if it wasn't clear, keep it 1171cc change everything else..
and to be honest i didnt ask if you cared if it will work i asked what parts will fit if any, what work is involved, if anyone knows, what power to expect, even though ino its not going to be a massive increase, if they don't...
thats what made me think of the newer 1.2 turbo, that way its still a 1.2 clio and it wouldnt be a modified engine just an engine from a newer clio that hapend to be made with a turbo.. which i have read is faster than a standard 1.4 clio engine..
you can do it with the 1.4/1.6 corsa b engines, its restricted by the manifolds alot, you can swap the heads, everything.. if i changed the head aswell would that make it work? so the only things making it different from the 1.4 is the piston size? is all this not similar to getting it bored out...
already said, insurance is still cheaper with the mods than my last 1.6 with no mods by £1300, plus i will be doing the work so no labour costs, i can get parts cheap through a friend, i don't want to know if people think i should do it or not i want to no if it can be done, whats involved, what...
but surely more air+fuel in and out means its going to make a bit of a difference, or do the manifolds, throttle body and things not restrict this engine? is it just the pistons that are different between the 1.2 and 1.4?
Wouldnt that make it more tax? And if i change everything apart from the block and head then its still freshly skimmed.. Head gasket should last longer than the second hand engines, if i do an engine swap i was thinking of the newer 1.2 turbo because its still a 1.2 and its faster than the...
According to ebay, the headgasket and bolts etc are the same for the 1.2/1.4 which suggests to me they have the same engine with different pistons, ports, manifolds or whatever i just wanted to know what parts were different between the 2
Helpfull..
You can always buy a faster car, i dont want a different car, its just had the sides smoothed, headgasket done, alternator, new subframe, and other bits, if i dont modify the engine im stripping the car, which i don't want to do
its not even on the road, its just a project, i dont even know what im going todo with it yet, and same principle, different engine.. Look at vauxhall corsa b, 1.4/1.6 are the same engines, ones more restrictive, 1.2 is completely different and no parts from the 1.4/1.6 fit and i can insure it...
It cost me £150.. Ino i can buy another car, i dont want to buy another car, this one has had alot of money spent on it by a mate and its a shame to get rid of it, i dont want to make it the fastest car in the world, i want to keep it a 1.2 and would like to no if anyone knows if any other parts...
Ino.. I cant find out any information on them, i wanted to no if any of the parts from other engines fit the e7f because thats the engine i've got in the car i've got.. Is the block the same as the 1.4? Or any parts on any engine? Some cars have the same block for the 1.4/1.6 just with different...
Weight, insurance, tax.. I would rather make the engine its got faster, if i can do it just by changing some parts off other engines, the 1.2 turbo was just an idea if i can't at the min..
Hi, im wondering if anyone can help me and knows of the differences in the energy range of engines? For example heads, manifolds, cams etc. are any of the parts swappable for more power? Also does anyone know if i swapped the engine with the newer 1.2 turbo engine, how much work would it be, is...
