Firstly, you have adjustable dampers. They are designed to be adjusted for the conditions. If you are spending your time on bumpy roads turn your dampers down, it costs nothing and you may be surprised by your results. Get the most from your dampers!
Secondly once you have lowered the rebound...
For any questions about AST, please tag or ask me! Some truths and some non truths and total guess work going on here! Let's see if i can be of help.
We valve for the car, we also have spring rates that we recommend. We will however supply whatever the customer requires (within reason). So...
No Worries glad to be of assistance. We don't set the ride heights on new kits before shipping, hence this set being somewhat low to start! Also loving the spray then bagging the dampers. Protect your investment people!
With cold tyres and spring rates like you mentioned, you are going to generate understeer. I would go softer all round and make the rear spring stiffer than the front. Although we list the Clio as true coiler rear, you can remove the coilover spring and platform and run a lowering spring...
If you can find the budget, give us a call, or one of our dealers. We will be happy to assist you. It's unfortunate that you missed out on our 4100 sale that finished before Christmas, this would have been right at your price point.
Used AST dampers are serviceable in the UK with 3-5 day...
Hi Zach,
Glad you had a good experience at Balance Motorsport and are happy with the service we provided. If you do go to the CUP racer setup, we have the front dampers to work with that hub on the shelf in the UK.

The top slot on the damper is elongated for camber.
It really is personal preference on the springs as we have seen already in this thread. As you can imagine we speak to customers on our hugely popular Renault kits daily. The variation in usage is quite broad, we have a few customers up at 120...
There are more parts to consider in the 5100 than the 4100, however servicing intervals would depend on the application. If someone is always on the black stuff driving at the back round Silverstone for x amount of hours it's different to launching sausage curbs at Knockhill for the same amount...
Hi
Have you purchased these used? There is a lock ring under the bearing please make sure that is tight and there in no up and down play. Did you check the top pin on the KW was suitable diameter etc?

Great car. We do love the Clio Cup cars in all it's guises, having run several ourselves over the years. Do keep the dampers serviced. We are the official UK service centre and distribution. Our factory trained technitions use only genuine AST parts.
As has been mentioned, thats a road spring setup and will be shimmed as such. 65/50 we now do 70/40. but not much in it at all.
Interesting as it's gonna depend on the preference of the driver. Take it round on really soft setup and it bounces around out the back at full throttle, you are...
Guys I think we need to be quite clear on our conversions or someone is going to end up in a tree!
90n/110n is a race setup. That is roughly 513lb front and 627lb rear. stiff enough for race cars is plenty stiff enough for trackdays. If however the springs you have at the moment (get some...
Hi Rich,
If it's the car in your avatar then we would expect a 250mm rear length. I suspect the springs have been changed at some point. We supply the a 250mm rear spring in the 5100 1 way damper (40n road or 80n track), or a 200mm rear spring (80/90/100n race) in the 5200/5300 2/3way series...
Good choice of car Luke, Castle Combe is always a track to let you know whether your brakes are up to the job!
As well as Renault, AST have long been associated with Subaru Imprezas and are able to supply our 5100 kit for your model.
