I recently sold a 182 that we did the belts and dephaser on. I had the receipt from Renault, the old parts in a big sack, a stamp in the book and a list with my garages stamp on it, confirming what was replaced. Still didn't believe me.

You have to spend a lot of money to get a better car IMO. No other car for £1500 Is as good as a 172. IMO of course.

No structural checks are made mate. They just check it's got the right vin plates on it, it's not a ringer. The only thing that concerns me with C/D cars is airbags. If I crash, I want to know that the airbags are still in the seat/steering wheel and the warning lights haven't been turned off...

If it gets stolen, or you write it off your insurance will only pay out a portion of the cars actual value. It will effect resale as it's worth less than a straight one. Apart from that, nothing.
