Touche!
Cup is 3mm lower ride height (IIRC)
there is a width difference of 10mm rear and 20mm front in the track
NO ABS, No Traction Control, No Side Airbags, No Alcantara/leather seats, No Xenon lights, No auto lights/wipers, no CD autochanger (this was an option in 172s), No Climate...
Similar to the Gti-6/Rallye scenario, although the cup isnt "as" stripped out as the Rallye was! There is a difference, but you at least get elec windows in the cup!
Morning, welcome to the club. The 172 or cup thing is a big debate...its almost like lighting the blue touch paper!!! lol
A fair few people on here have made the step from a 306 Gti-6 to the 172/182...so they may be the best people to give their advice about the switch.
Id say go for a...

LagerLout, I wasnt getting at you. Youre entitled to your opinions...it was Jones and his *ahem* comments that I was expressing myself about.
<---- You can see why I like the cup!
Nae Worries anyway!
Apologies to those who may feel that Ive caused offence.
The general impression given by most owners on here is that traction control isnt used and is felt to be a hinderance. (Thats the perception that I got).
I havent said that the cup is/isnt better than a 172, I just outlined my...
Do you move your feet around on the pedals a lot? Some people tend to move the ball of their foot around on the pedal, if so, then velcro is not a good idea. If you raise your foot off the pedal before moving it, then you should be fine. I had no real issues, just use a couple of strips of...
The only thing in a 172 that I wish the cup had is lumbar support!
ABS - if you need it, youre probably pushing the car too hard.
Climate Control, there is probably a week of the year where youll really need it!
Traction Control - Most 172/182 drivers turn it off!
Cruise Control - Do...
There is one way to do it without damaging the pedals. Attach velcro to the pedal and the new pedal, then attach. Its not perfect, but doesnt damage your current pedals. Other than that, theres superglue. But I tried attaching new pedal covers to my old 306, The drill just didnt do it!!

Hiya Wend, it was us I thought I saw your car, just couldnt remember the first two letters before the number, so didnt say Hi...Apologies, was running late and wasnt paying attention to other road users (especially as there was a Civic Type R who was overtaking in the last few hundred yards...
Mine was about £160 Iirc...its been past that some time ago! It can depend from garage to garage! I would say youre looking circa £150, 24K for me was £195.
On my cup, when I remove the key, 9 times out of 10 the steering lock doesnt seem to engage. Its as if theres a slight bit of resistance while removing the key, but not the same kind of feeling as when the steering lock kicks in. Is this a warranty issue? Has anyone else had it?
Any help...
My cup had the exact same problem, it wouldnt lock or unlock with the remote, and the passenger door key hole would only open that one door. Battery was fine, but when you went to position III on the key turn, it would just do nothing. Called AA man (with the AA assistance thingy) and he came...
Why not get some Turinis (a la cup) and colour them in whatever colour/shade you like...
Just an idea, but probably a cheaper one than what youre probably thinking. :D
There was someone from up north (Mboro IIRC) he did the same as you, looked a nice piece of work. Im in Telford, and theres a fair few more of us around here too...welcome to the club BTW...
1.8 audi TT engine...its in a "orange" 1.2 clio!!!
the car used to be a stripped out shell with 1 seat, cup engine and dash and NOS shot, but that wasnt fast enough for him!!!
a turbo conversion on a 172/182 is circa £6K...dont know about it for a 1.2, but with the rest that would need to...
Cant really see the interior, but there is little in it!! The heaviest thing in the interior is probably the driver (no offence Martin!)http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y188/GazTwo/NW%20Meet%2003-07-2005/DSC00209.jpg
Martin. has the nana....thats had some work done to it, I remember when the previous owner was getting it Rolling Road tested, you could feel the immense heat coming from the exhaust and the noise was near deafening. see if theres any pics of it...
Hey Wend, you need to tell that to the idiots in Wellington, some of them sit there in the middle of the road chatting to each other not giving 2 hoots for anyone around them!
Donny
From what I can gather there were 3000 or thereabouts made. Out of that I think that IIRC there are 300 silver ones made. So it should be 2700 mondial blue and 300 silver. (Sure Ill be corrected if Im wrong!)
