Ahh yes i remember m8. I think i was rushing to get off too, so sorry for the quick departure.
The oil coolers currently seem ok, although how they will cope on a track is to be tested. I'm guessing that as the air flows underneath the car, there will be a depression once it reaches the rear...
Absolutely unbelievable grip tbh m8. Mine only runs 195 section tyres and it puts the lot down in first and second ! I did expect to have to widen the arches, but so far so good .....
Love the turbines m8, but i'm gonna convert it to 5 stud, with VW hubs up front, so that pretty much f***s that idea over ! That way i can use bigger CV joints, And bolt bigger brakes on up front easier ;-)
I don't doubt it m8, the only thing that could cause me issues is the setting up of the VNT. It's not the easiest thing to set up, and i'm also running an external wastegate. :(
Did it the same way m8, putting the new hole in exactly the same place, although i did replate up the arm where the balljoint flange wasn't touching it, if that makes any sense !? Side view looks like the wheel is too far forward, same as yours.
Yeah, there's around 4.5 degrees caster now up front, adjustable top mounts maybe allow another 1 degree or so ..... The first gen Clio V6 had 5 degrees caster, Renault changed it to 6 degrees on the later model. I'm really hoping for these spherical bearings to transform the car, Fingers crossed !
Hello m8 ! how's things ? Good to meet u at FCS. Thanks for the praise, I can't believe mine is far better than your's, mine looks tatty to me and in need of serious tidying up lol.
And yeah, like i said to you at FCS, i think the rear suspension tweaks are a big key to keeping the rear...
Wow, thanks for all the positive comments. As everyone is probably aware of now, the car made the journey to French Car show at Donington, and spent the day inside the paddock suite. It drove hitch free, although it's prompted me to look into some suspension tweaks. The car has always been...
After a trip to see Scoff @ Efi-Parts, Runcorn to finish off the mapping and hopefully get some decent results, the outcome was 430 hp and 430 lbs/ft of torque @ 1.3 bar boost pressure. The injectors were pretty much maxed out at that boost, so since then i've changed to some 850cc siemens...
I realised that the Clio had a cable driven speedo, and the VR was electronic so some sort of conversion was needed. I did consider 5 GTT clocks, but opted for some Astra GTE digital clocks as i'd had a set gathering dust for some years ! After stripping both of the clusters down, i modified...
By now i had a fully painted rolling chassis. Look at the rear track !!
Ok, so now lets get that motor back in the bay
By this time, a list of 'other' jobs was starting to build. The project had to go on hold to clear the backlog.
Time passed on, and every day...

Unfortunately i lost alot of the early build pics due to a shitty Samsung hard disk failure, I managed to recover some from friend that i had sent stuff to.
So i...
