fuses, electrical failure, connectors and ECU etc. You need a fault code to be sure, as its a very general dash light warning.

Online stuff should be ok and saved under your user profile; but don't bother with harddrive swaps and repairs cos it will just break again.

CAT can make the inside smell too.

Where do you fill up? could be low grade or sub-standard fuel...if the fuel has an above average sulpher content then it is not absorbed quickly enough by the CAT, settles and is then blown out as an eggy smell on startup. (This can be made chemically worse in warmer weather). happens a lot...
