Another update to this, had an idea in my head that I'd wanted to do to the car since I got it and this week I finally managed to get it done.
Started with a set of the wheels I'd been after coming up for sale over on the RS forum, these to be exact:
JW Racing (a Ford tuning company) alloys...
Cheers bud.
I do worry the flat arched MK3 may look a bit bland out on the road, I'll wait to see it in real life though. A guy I know from this area also has a UG and whenever I see it coming towards me I think "Holy s**t that looks wide", they stand out a mile off on the road.
I agree with...
No idea how prices will go really, never worry about things like that, probably should mind!
Aye, if anything prices have gone up slightly over the past couple of years, or at least they have up here. I looked at one of these in the exact same spec, colour, age and mileage a little under 2...
I'm from Alloa, so half hour ish from Doune which is where things start to get fun and only get better the further you go!
Aye, get the Be Tapp'd lot involved.
It is! I don't make enough use of it really considering these sorts of roads are only half an hour or so from my house.
That's one of the few that would tempt me away from this, not that I could afford one mind!
So many photo opportunities on the route that I missed, due to being too busy...
Aye, you might even have the Lolf by then! :smirk:
As much as the new one will no doubt be an absolute weapon on the road, it certainly doesn't do it for me like this one does. Then again, the only cars on the road that would even slightly tempt me out of this come with a £40k+ price tag...
As I'm single as s**t and all my mates are either working or have girlfriends, I found myself hangover and plan free this morning. Was a decent day for the first time in a long time, so decided to take the Focus a good blast. Snapped a couple of quick iPhone pics while I was there...
Awesome stuff. Spec R bits are pricey but seem to be worth the money when it comes to performance.
Anybody managed to beat Simon's power figure from his old one yet?
Depends how much smaller you go. There is no legal size for a number plate, as long as the letters are the correct size, font and spacing, it has the correct border around the letter and has all the BSAU markings then it's legal. Like mine, although they're only shortened length wise:
That's another element to it, it's possible certain tinters used to make up the car could have been changed/replaced over the years to comply with new regulations etc which can give variations. It is a 10 year old colour now after all.
It's not unlikely that a complex colour such as LY could vary massively between cars. In fact I could quite easily believe it, especially if they're years apart, painted in different locations by different machines at a different time of year.
I can't see it being deliberately changed by...
I'd look into a set of Eibachs for it first before I went down the route of changing anything else. Made a huge difference on both my Focai (I'm aware it's a different car, but still).
They actually made the RS more comfortable but with better handling than standard. Probably the best thing I've...
That article is a bit misleading, they make it sound like the Saxo crashed into the other car at 80mph. You'd need to sweep it off the road with a brush and shovel if it did.
Wait, save up if needs be, get them done properly. Putting filler on wheels is mental, professional places won't need to do that (unless they're absolutely fucked)
Aye I usually give it a good blast off with the pressure washer at work mid week just to keep on top of it!
Believe it or not there are quite a few FRS systems out there with bigger, the KMS Thunderstorm for example has 5.5" tips :fearful:
Cheers Gally, more decent pics I can steal of it instead of my iPhone ones! Shame it's dirty again already mind, f**k winter!
No wonder you don't spend as much time cleaning it, too many cracking roads up there to enjoy instead!
