Re: Ollie's Silver Cup - JMS RS2/428s/Wilwood/2118
What Recaro's are you using, I can't remember from your thread? I think, as I'll obviously have to buy subframes anyway, then the cobra extra low are the probably the way to go. :)
I'm only really driving to work and back over the next few...
Re: Ollie's Silver Cup - JMS RS2/428s/Wilwood/2118
HARPHAMOMINOM, as Jack said, they're usually used to secure the bonnet and are more aesthetically pleasing than regular bonnet pins. :)
They can be used on any panel really; Bomber has them holding his front bumper on iirc.
As I've still...
Re: Ollie's Silver Cup - JMS RS2/428s/Wilwood/2118
That heat protective loom wrap from 'tweaks looks pretty good.
My other option is to buy a bigger section of nimbus heat shield and re-do it. Can get a piece double the size for quite a reasonable price, which would be big enough to extend...
Been a few times back when I had a Ford.
Really good show IMO, lots to see all day. You can literally spend hours just wandering around the stands and displays. :)
I'm looking forward to seeing the results you get, hoping it shows that cams work well alongside the manifold. Interested to see how they perform with the runner length of the RS2. :)
Out of interest, did your car feel noticeably quicker when you had the RS2 fitted than standard? As, even...
No mate, not mapped yet; still undecided on what's happening with the cams.
Hoping there's some information soon, so I can start planning for fitting/mapping. :)
Not long now until your 438's go in either!
Re: Ollie's Silver Cup - JMS RS2/428s/Wilwood/2118
I'm just a little concerned about the loom and pipework that's sitting opposite the manifold; as my heat shield doesn't extend down far enough to cover them.
I've made sure it's all clipped and secured properly now (so the loom can't fall down...
Re: Ollie's Silver Cup - JMS RS2/428s/Wilwood/2118
Rear of the aerocatches. :)
You can get an underside mounting plate too, which makes the installation a little neater (the mounting plate effectively replaces the need for nuts and washers). But, you'd still need to cut a larger hole in...
Re: Ollie's Silver Cup - JMS RS2/428s/Wilwood/2118
Thanks, guys! :) I'm still a little undecided on the heat shield at the moment.
JackJack, I'll get the photos of the underside of the aerocatch installation this evening. :)
Re: Ollie's Silver Cup - JMS RS2/428s/Wilwood/2118
Couple more. Actually, the more I look at the heat shield, the more I like it. :o I've decided I quite like it now. :rasp:
Re: Ollie's Silver Cup - JMS RS2/428s/Wilwood/2118
I've just been outside and adjusted the heat shield slightly, so it looks a little more visually appealing. It's just getting the edge to sit so it looks 'right'. I'm just being fussy!
The only thing I'm worried about are the pipes and loom...
Re: Ollie's Silver Cup - JMS RS2/428s/Wilwood/2118
Thanks for the kind comments, guys! :)
I'm not 100% convinced of the heat shield at the moment. It looks a little awkward from some angles and I'm not sure it extends far enough down towards the manifold. :o
Maybe I'll give something else I...
Re: Ollie's Silver Cup - JMS RS2/428s/Wilwood/2118
Update, heat shield and aerocatches are sorted! :approve:
i would have posted photos sooner, but I've been at the pub. :D
Re: Ollie's Silver Cup - JMS RS2/428s/Wilwood/2118
At least the wobble is sorted; no more wondering whether the box would resolve it! :)
So what will Renault do regards the new box issue, have to take the box out again?
Re: Ollie's Silver Cup - JMS RS2/428s/Wilwood/2118
With tomorrow off work, I'm planning to get a couple of bits sorted.
Fix/Replace snapped handbrake cable. :D
Replace dirty original heat shield with a section of Nimbus motorsport aluminium stuff. :D
Possibly fit aerocatches. :dead:
Thanks, Vicky. :)
Yes mate, I was pretty late in. About midday, I think.
A good few of us got stuck in bad traffic on the A46 for over an hour (literally a few miles away from CSS).
