From doing a bit more research I think it may be the decoder ring around the barrel or it'll be the Key itself, I've got a spare key so i'll monitor it :up:

A couple of times recently my Imob light has flashed quickly when trying to start the car, I just cycle the ign and it doesn't happen again.
Whats the deal? Key on it's way out or something else to look at ?

Genuinely a dream car of mine, I've wanted a E5 (i know yours is a 6 before someone says) since i was a teenager as yours is a truly beautiful example. so so so nice.
Fair enough money is tight, I can appreciate that. but 1500 for a 172 with belts done and you know personally that everything is sorted as you've done it yourself is not too bad at all. Press on buddy.
