they usually just plug inbetween the existing wiring and your stereo (if you have iso connectors) just plug and play
i have one in my clio and had one in a focus, a fiat van, an astra van and a vectra
with no issues,
but it looks like someone has changed the wiring in the pics

You'll have to use your neons to find a switched live, it'll be either the red or yellow wire going into the headunit, just splice into the switched live and your sorted
Looks like the blue wire may be a permanent live, try connecting it to the yellow wire coming out of the stereo, you could use a multimeter to test for a switched live, or a bulb with 2 pieces of wire, can you get a close pic of the wiring diagram on the top of the hu?
