I've never been happy with the fit of my top mounts either. Mine slightly uneven also.
I was more worried about the " slack " I had causing axle tramp like sensations in the wet sometimes.
I replaced with new Febi top mounts with original Renault spacer nuts a few years ago, but the gap didn't...
Holy s**t. 30 quid per corner is too much for a tight git like me.
Would be nice to have 3d chrome Renault diamonds however.
Decals over paint it is.
Just gotta find some decent quality decals now.
I'm flexible on the style as long as it looks "nice"
I saw a picture of a lovely titanium...
Have you got a link for the caps you bought?
I contacted the guy I bought my Turini's off, they've been refurbished and he has no idea what the exact colour is, so I'm probably best off getting some colour matched paint and going DIY route.
Thanks for help.
3d printed caps would also need sanding and painting also so still a lot of faff.
I think I'm going to try what I've described. If it all goes to s**t I'll say so.
Am I right in thinking the genuine Renault trophy Turini caps are 58mm?
My speedline caps are 59mm on the outer diameter.
Maybe...
Hi all,
Long time lurker here. Really appreciate all the excellent advice given on this forum. Got a minor issue and would like to know what your chosen solution would be.
Got myself some good condition aftermarket Turini's with nearly new tyres for a decent price. I can't stand the speedline...
Some nice work there chaps.
Fancy fixing mine? Lol.
Hopefully mine aren't that rotten. But the front Jacking points are absolutely mullered. Definitely rust in rear ns jacking point.
Not looking forward to the investigation...
I've got a titanium one too. Think it suits car really well. Looks modern still.
It's the most common colour unfortunately I think.
I wanted a racing blue one but didn't find one in my price range at time.
I quite like the old phase 1 Clio's now, can't be many of them left. Never see them on...
Be careful pulling/levering the clear red plastic lamp housing out of the spoiler. Don't want to crack it obviously.
Just gently lever out on alternating sides with something that will spread the pressure a bit.
Boys , use a 300mm 12v led light strip from Toolstation.
Works a treat.
I used the spine of a dvd case to stick LEDs to, and then wedged that into original red valeo light housing. Original metal clips then hold it in place nicely. Leave the original circuit board out.
Use solder and heat...
Just fitted a cup spoiler to my 182FF.
Leading edge slightly rubs back of car roof when opening boot.
Used to cardboard to try and pack it out in direction I needed more space and then did up screws. Still rubs a touch but better.
It was resprayed at some point, so it's just a touch larger...
Cheers. 99 quid is crazy money still. I'm a tight git. I guess they are upgraded however.
I'll call Renault tomorrow to see if they sell em.
I've seen cheap ones on eBay but quality probably not the best.
Thanks for help mate.
I looked on Renault parts direct to see if they sold the bushes and ball joint ends, but seems not.
They have 172 wishbones (slightly less camber apparently) but pretty expensive.
I have access to a press, so would like to get just the bushes ideally and replace myself in original control...
I can't find any new genuine control arms for a reasonable price.
So I thought I'd just replace bushes in my original arms.
Powerflex want £192 for 4 bushes. Wtf. Dream on.
Thanks for Help Clio fool. It's about 10mm gap at least.
If front wheels spin slightly in damp conditions there's a horrible "axle tramp" bouncing. Over bumpy roads can also feel suspension rattle almost.
I think the lad put some camber bolts on front hubs so geometry is probably fooked...
Hi Fonzey, I've got issues with my front suspension also.
I replaced top mounts with new febi ones thinking it would solve issue of a large gap between my top mount caps and car suspension mount area, but made no difference.
I now believe it has non cup shocks with possiby wrong springs.
Are...
