Bit of an update - should hopefully be making good progress with the car this weekend I've managed to get both driveshafts in, suspension in and powder coated bits fitted. It's finally back on all 4 wheels again!

I know the feeling - i'm 95% of the way through putting my 182 engine back in and hopefully going to have it started tonight or tomorrow... we will see!

Personally if you're using the cigarette lighter feed for things which are reasonably high loads, I would run a half decent gauge cable from the battery terminal into a relay - use the lighter feed as your 'switch' on the relay and then on the output of the relay, have a set of terminal blocks...

Good tyres, brakes and an oil change. Enjoy the track day and the car will tell you what it needs next. Trust me, i've been there and ploughed thousands into a car to use as a track car and ended up hating it due to not actually enjoying the car and it just sitting in the garage.

Bloody hell, makes my garage seem a right tip. I did paint the floor last summer but it's ended up filthy! The desk is going this weekend and i'm buying a set of shelves for all the cleaning products / renault parts i've got lying around!

I've worked on these cars a lot over the years so can get the car to a point the engines ready to come out in around an hour and a half. I'm still aching a little bit as it's the first time in a long time i've spent the full weekend on the car and my shoulder always plays up lying on the floor...

I think part of it with me is that i'm so picky - i've had Clios in the past that were immaculate and when I picked this one up knew it needed a lot of work to get it to a point i'm happy. I'm gradually getting rid of all my Clio parts so it'll start costing soon enough..

I like those - I suppose because they're not 2118's, TD's or Turinis people won't be too sure of them...

Whats the condition of them like - any paint etc peeling off them? I'm hoping to keep the car looking spotless underneath and peeling paint will probably wind me up haha.

the tracking was out by miles when I bought the car and it was soaking wet and has s**te tyres on it so I wasn't full of confidence. Don't want coilovers but want the same sort of drop - unsure what drop you get off Cooksports.
