2004 Cup Packed Petrol Blue 182!

Bit of an update - should hopefully be making good progress with the car this weekend I've managed to get both driveshafts in, suspension in and powder coated bits fitted. It's finally back on all 4 wheels again!

    Iceberg ahead

I know the feeling - i'm 95% of the way through putting my 182 engine back in and hopefully going to have it started tonight or tomorrow... we will see!

    Switched ignition live feed

Personally if you're using the cigarette lighter feed for things which are reasonably high loads, I would run a half decent gauge cable from the battery terminal into a relay - use the lighter feed as your 'switch' on the relay and then on the output of the relay, have a set of terminal blocks...

Good tyres, brakes and an oil change. Enjoy the track day and the car will tell you what it needs next. Trust me, i've been there and ploughed thousands into a car to use as a track car and ended up hating it due to not actually enjoying the car and it just sitting in the garage.

    Turning Garage Into Detailing Studio

Bloody hell, makes my garage seem a right tip. I did paint the floor last summer but it's ended up filthy! The desk is going this weekend and i'm buying a set of shelves for all the cleaning products / renault parts i've got lying around!

2004 Cup Packed Petrol Blue 182!

I've worked on these cars a lot over the years so can get the car to a point the engines ready to come out in around an hour and a half. I'm still aching a little bit as it's the first time in a long time i've spent the full weekend on the car and my shoulder always plays up lying on the floor...

2004 Cup Packed Petrol Blue 182!

I think part of it with me is that i'm so picky - i've had Clios in the past that were immaculate and when I picked this one up knew it needed a lot of work to get it to a point i'm happy. I'm gradually getting rid of all my Clio parts so it'll start costing soon enough..

Chronicles of #1/29 Petrol Blue 182

I like those - I suppose because they're not 2118's, TD's or Turinis people won't be too sure of them...

2004 Cup Packed Petrol Blue 182!

I can't remember where I bought it from, was either Motherwell or Stirling. I've bought 5 Clios from Scotland over the last year or two to break for parts... I got it for a good price though - but looking back at the car needing a new exhaust, new box and a good tidy up it wasn't really a...

2004 Cup Packed Petrol Blue 182!

Bit of an update after a long weekend!! The cars done less than 50 miles since buying it – I’m notorious for buying cars and not driving them and having them sitting in the garage. When I was driving the car home from Scotland after purchasing it – I noticed a rattling coming from the gearbox...

Chronicles of #1/29 Petrol Blue 182

Looks lovely! I've got a PB also, looking out for a set of Turinis for it. Still can't decide if I like the colour or not!

    Sunderland ??

I'm from Hebburn. had around 15 Cliosports to date. Currently got a petrol blue 182 which is currently getting the engine ripped out of it and looking to get it set up for fast road. Hoping it'll be back on the road mid march so definately keen on getting out and meeting others in the area...

2004 Cup Packed Petrol Blue 182!

so slow progress due to doing 6 day, 100 hour weeks that don't look like they're ending any time soon. The pearl black 172 I've got in the garage is just taking up space now and it's in a million bits. ideally I want to get the petrol blue into the garage so I can. begin to progress with it...

    Ebay tools - Copies? Knockoffs?

I bought a set of Bergen 3/8 hex and torx sockets. Absolute pants. But then I've had a set of Bergen torx screwdrivers in my work toolbox used almost every day for the last 4 years and they've been great. You win some you lose some it seems. Sent from my SM-J510FN using Tapatalk

Whats the condition of them like - any paint etc peeling off them? I'm hoping to keep the car looking spotless underneath and peeling paint will probably wind me up haha.

2004 Cup Packed Petrol Blue 182!

the tracking was out by miles when I bought the car and it was soaking wet and has s**te tyres on it so I wasn't full of confidence. Don't want coilovers but want the same sort of drop - unsure what drop you get off Cooksports.

    Another Impact Wrench question...

I use all Dewalt gear at work so have all the batteries and chargers etc. I've just recently bought the 3/8 and 1/2 inch impacts - the 1/2" one undone all driveshaft nuts on a Clio and nearly snapped my wrists in the process.

2004 Cup Packed Petrol Blue 182!

It does sit well on them, looking to get the whole thing immaculate underneath so may buy some new apex springs as these ones have paint peeling off them, failing that some Eibach Sportlines. I've owned most colours of these Clios and her indoors went mad when I bought this one. I've managed...

2004 Cup Packed Petrol Blue 182!

Due to having so many of these cars in the past and having one in for breaking I've got loads of bits lying around. I refurbished a set of front calipers using bigg red pistons and seals, new sliders and new bleed nipples. These will be fitted to the car once the Black 172 is gone! Before and...

2004 Cup Packed Petrol Blue 182!

So I’ve decided I had better do a build thread for my new Clio… This is my 15th Renault Sport. I’ve owned a PH1 172, many PH2 172 and 182 and a Meg 225 in the past. It’s a terrible affliction to have, and I don’t know why I keep buying them – but here’s my most recent one! 2004 Petrol Blue Clio...

    Petrol Blue 182 - New-ish.....

Being honest the other 2 aren't worth keeping. A load of people probably see me selling bits and pieces on facebook cheap as chips. Basically do it as a hobby. I try and pick up poor examples of 1X2's and either do the belts and any bits they need but usually just break them as I pick up some...

    Petrol Blue 182 - New-ish.....

Few photos of the car. My Mrs isn't happy I've bought another one but I've managed to get her on board with the "rare appreciating modern classic" and "any money I spend on it is an investment" It needs a bit of work, got over a £1000 worth of items in my eBay basket so once I get paid this...

    Petrol Blue 182 - New-ish.....
