It seems now, that consistently Ph1 172's are becoming 3 figure cars.
So whats the best car you think you could buy for sub £1000 (Top Gear style).
After a quick search on ebay I'd say a PH1 Clio is way up there for amount of fun per £, but - unfortunately - for me it would have to be a mk1...
Yeh just a couple of basic tips, dont trim bits of the car unnecessarily.Those pictures are terrible for it.
For example your first pic makes sense because it's a close up of your rear light, but theres no excuse for trimming that tiny bit off the headlight in pic 4. Consider your shots before...
No way. Cat D should have a major effect on the price. I would say anywhere between 25-50% off a good example. £500 is not even close to the discount you should be looking for. I think that car looks pricey.
I think I can answer that. He's downgraded the wheels, downgraded the spoiler, filled the boot with audio junk and attached an ebay nos kit. Oh and he's also completely removed all of it's desirability and character.

Yeh not a huge fan of the white, however I'd have imagined it looking worse than that. Maybe stick exclusively to the orange and silver look - It's a "different" look that has been tried and tested. Keep the callipers subtle - i suggest black - even sports have embarrassingly small brakes.
I would always get them done at a body shop - you never get a great finish by yourself. Plus, the amount of paint you need you dont save that much anyway. If you want to save costs, take the parts off the car, mask off what doesnt need painted and take them in to a body shop.

Handywork is excellent there. The vinyl looks spot on.
I can see why you're undecided and I think I don't like it. The stickers on the rear window, checkered petrol flap and non colour coded plastics say rat/battle scarred/don't really care about my car look. But the vinyl design and the chrome...
