Matt - at the last weigh in the clio weighed 1.86 tonnes
Cub - 2009 XK's are still a bit steep cash wise these days. The Supra will be a fairly cheap build
I was thinking of leaving the spoiler off but it does look wrong without one I think. It will be a relatively small one though so not to...
The Supra will be finished before the Clio now. It should be done for August/September all being well.
The Clio will be started again as soon as the Supra goes away for Plasti Dip
Its been a while since I replied on here as the winter got in the way amongst other things.
I've had a few problems with the Clio so decided to concentrate more on the Supra for the next few months.
Here's the latest pics from the last few weeks....still plenty to do:
Boot build being done...
well it looks like i've found the problem. 6 of the batteries were fine but very flat but now seem to be charging ok on the charger.
The 7th one is down to 1.9volts and is that knackered the cells inside have started to swell....not good i'm thinking.
More work to come tomorrow starting on...
Just when you think things are going well..another problem. I had an issue with some severely fried batteries. Due to the "ingenious" way i put the system together, there is no access to them to change them so there's only one thing for it.....the rear end of the system has to come out and be...
saner is correct. Its having a jag XK front end conversion.
Unfortunately i dont have shares in a glass fibre company but i do get it cheap. Luckily there wont be too much fibreglass on this build. :)
Oh and on the lights...thats parcel tape. Fibreglass doesn't stick to it or go through it so...
bit more work done on the supra. fibreglassing the lights in and building up the wings to meet the lights. The bonnet line is pretty much there. The bonnet will be extended next to meet the bumper and go round the lights.
no its only in primer at the moment. I'm having it plasti dipped gloss white so everything can be fitted and bonded to it first and then final coat done after
The Clio's coming along well now. The lights are now all tinted and some stickers have been added (more will be added when they're done) I have been sorting the 19" screen mounting as it was never done right (pics tomorrow) and fixed some niggly problems with the charging system and cosmetic...
Its weird. My mate was more bothered than i was..lol. I'd had it for 5 years at the time and knew it was repairable. I've never really liked the front end anyway so it made me bring my plans to the table a bit earlier than expected
I can't remember if i ever put any pics of my other ongoing project up but here she is as i'm doing bits on this at the moment also. My Supra had a front ender so decided to go for a Jag XK conversion.
Original state after crash
And the new front end (only really just started)
cheers flash. Its getting there. I've done a bit more this weekend with the door protectors being bonded on and wrapped the front windows. July will be seeing most of the other things being done and cosmetically almost finished so i will post pics as it comes along.
cheers mate. Its all about having a vision and seeing it through. I still have a couple of problems to overcome but then we're laughing. It will look nice when finished i'm sure.
Things are coming along now. The wheels have now been painted in the final colour (Ford Vision Blue). The amp build is complete and has been stickerbombed in the same Moshi Monster vinyl as the roof which I think works well. The inlet has been painted blue with the alternator and a few bits...
bit more work done. The amps have gone blue to match the wheels when they're all done again. The rear will now be done in stickerbomb the same as the roof and its basically read for that now
I also took it to its first mini event as a test run which went quite well except i blew a split...
Did a bit of sound system testing today. I didn't want to push it too far as the subs aren't ran in yet and the batteries haven't been conditioned.
Suprisingly it pulled a 155db on the Epic with music, which i'm more than happy with for the early tests. There will be more to come once the subs...
It's been a while since any updates have been made. Mainly because there has been nothing much to show but certain things have progressed to make the bodywork as it should be. The car should have had the final coat of primer at the weekend but as its turned out luckily my painter was ill.
I...
I didn't realise anybody had replied :) Things have gone a bit quiet just lately with all the terrible weather and Christmas etc but things are moving along slowly again now. This weekend (weather dependant) the bodywork will be completely finished which i'm glad of as i'm REALLY bored of doing...
Bit more work done today
New Autotek tweeters in the top of the dash fiiring at the window (a quick system test on the drive shows these have made a nice improvement)
It's mainly been sound system based today. The aux cable for the ipod is now in. I just need to buy a cradle for it. The...
I have done in the past but got pulled by the old bill while watching the England v Brazil game in the world cup on the way to work. Luckily they let me off as i told them the score and said i would take it out while driving..lol
The project is not far off being finished now. Should still be...
If i have to budget for time and money for the interior then it wont be ready for March and i don't want to miss another show season. I also have another project to do after this so i can't delay too much.
