Just about to change my N/S driveshaft, ive got new oil and washer etc for the gearbox, but ive just opened the driveshaft up and noticed its been supplied with a nylock nut (see picture) instead of the "ENKO" style nut.
Is this new nut okay to use? Ive read you're not supposed to reuse the old...
Well played around with this yesterday, never thought of swapping them side to side tbh, but i did put the old good one (only one side was leaking, i replaced the pair) on instead and the knocking stopped so its still look like its that shock, both wheel bearings are new on the back, not sure on...
during heavy bumps, usually at speeds under 40mph, anything over that doesnt seem to make it knock..
Its definitely that corner of the car as when going down a curb at an angle so all four wheels move separately its only when that corner goes down the curb that it knocks..
got the day off...
Hey there, some help if you please...
The car is an 03 1.2 16v, Ive just replaced the rear shocks are the nearside one was leaking, but i am now getting a knocking noise from that corner.

Hmm maybe thats just how it is then, the boot on my Citroen nearly opens itself, maybe the Clio boot is heavier i guess.
Thanks for confirming its not just mine :)
Just a quick question, on a mk2 ph2 is the boot lid supposed to push itself up after you lift it past half way?
Reason i ask is you have to push mine all the way up, once its open it stays open, but it doesnt feel like there is any help from the struts, i even bought another pair of struts to...
Finally got round to fitting the Ball joint and arb bushes after last weeks wheel nut fiasco, breaker bar worked wonderfully, arb bushes are a pain in the arse to compress but managed it with a healthy amount of swearing.. Took it for a drive and it feels great, shame about the small creaking...
Bought new balljoints, ARB bushes and dogbone, Went to fit them today and realised i cant get the wheel nuts off with the supplied wrench after having my tyres replaced last month... sigh..
so ordered new breaker bar... :)
Anyone know the size of the bolts needed to hold the splashguard under the radiator on?
Mines currently flapping about on my 1.2, only clipped on at the front but i can see theres 2 bolts holes at the back, but no bolts..
Thanks!
Just thought I should finally say Hi, ive been lurking for a few months now, getting the feel for the place etc..
Decided to become a proper member after buying an 03 1.2 Dynamique last month as a new daily for work, Its rough as, but as long as it drives its fine, Ive done a few things already...
I know a few people that do this, its really annoying, their reason when asked is that "its easier than looking where the lines are"
Idiots!
(also first post, HI!)
