I do quite alot of motorway driving and my gearbox is starting to crunch and whine. Ive been looking at fitting a dci 80 gearbox to lower cruise speed revs anyone done this . Is it a straight swap eg speedo drive drive shafts etc. Thank

Got a ph1 172 had problems with starter motor not engaging correctly so Brought new one exactly same problem. Fitted the old one and it worked even though the bottom bolt hole has been snapped off and it is held in with one bolt.anyone help Please

Thanks for the reply the dowl is in the gearbox so know thats in for sure I reckon the pitch is wrong on the starter motors

Looks ok mate just doesn't make sense all 3 starters look and seem to match up just 2 new ones wont engage properly and just make grinding noise. Fit old one and it starts. Well after a few hits with hammer

Had problem with my old starter so I got a new one but it wasnt engaging properly so they sent replacement but that is exactly the same anyone else come acrosss this before. Fitted old one worked again. They match up the same and everything cant work it out. HELP! !!!

Hi everyone just brought my first clio 172 its a ph1. Quiet a suprising car really only owned jap cars in past. Enjoying it at moment got few lil problems 1 being the immobiliser an the other is the whopping great exhaust hanging out the back from previous owner
