Well Vodafone it's out this month...Orange in mid-June (still not on their website though annoyingly). Not too sure about O2 but I imagine mid-June too mate. It is annoying as usually I upgrade the first day I can!
Yeh why no to plasma? Can't see any disadvantage with it really - looks great on all TV, from soaps, to action films, to sport, to computer games...?
Only weakness, like most / all TVs, is the sound - you will want to invest in a sound system of some sort so work that into your budget if you...
I'm not sure it is a "true" HDMI connection though, is it? Well as long as you can do that, that's a massive advantage! It is now the perfect phone! :)
I got the LG PK590 - a 50" plasma with built in Freeview. Stunning design, internet connectivity, 4 HDMI ports, amazing value for money. You can get them for under £700 now and truly is stunning.
Yeh saw lots of good reviews for it and think it's a better set than the LG Optimus X2 and Motorola Atrix (well for me it would be anyway!) - but I've got an HTC now and love it, so going to stick with them.
Yeh a shame though really - as it lets down the premium feel of it...for me it was between that and the new HTC Sensation, but think I'll wait for that now. Does look really good though - what's the screen look like in the flesh?
I know you said not to suggest alternatives, but the HTC Sensation looks like it might be the one to wait for...S2 is still really good though, Arc looks good too. Just depends what your priorities are in a phone.
Sensation isn't out yet but from the research I've done the Sensation is the one to go for. The HTC UI is better than Samsung's, it has a better build quality and HTC are widely considered the benchmark for Android phones (based on the Hero, Desire, Sensation S and Desire HD).
iPhone 4 is a...
I think that the iPhone pushed all the competition to improve their game. All Apple need to do is make the new phone in a new colour and hordes of people will still buy it!
HTC Sensation is what I'm going for. Even if you think Apple products are the best, try an HTC Android phone and you will realise that all the advertising is a little bit stretched these days, they really aren't the class leaders like they used to be IMO.
I've got my 32" Samsung hooked up to my Dell media PC and it looks crisp, connected via HDMI though which not all PCs have still.
For streaming videos on it looks stunning - especially certain "adult" sites :)
Yeh the new Galaxy S2 is an amazing piece of tech, yet for the sake of a few extra $ and grams they house it in a cheap looking / feeling case which is a real shame.
On the plus side though the S2 has a better battery life than the Sensation due to the Amoled screen (or at least projected to)...
