From Michelin:
Michelin do, indeed, produce 3 products in the basic tyre size & tread pattern mentioned:
205/45 R 16 83V ‘New Pilot Exalto (PE2)’ (V=Max speed 149mph)
205/45 ZR 16 83W ‘New Pilot Exalto (PE2)’ (W=Max speed 168mph)
205/45 ZR 16 87W ‘New Pilot Exalto (PE2)’ Extra...
888's are good for track work, but they don't come in the right size for standard 182 rims and they wear very quickly. They are also not a good choice if you want secure wet weather grip on the road.
Michelin PE2's really are the best you'll find for dry and wet conditions on a 182. They may...
Agreed. People often resent paying out for tyres (and the Michelin PE2's are expensive), but you're missing out on 50% of the car in the case of a 1*2 if you skimp on tyres in my opinion.
Lol, cheers. With it being a bit different I was expecting a mixed reception. No money to spend on any more tarting up though - it's all going to Mr Fish to sort out the suspension!
I'm quite happy with it as it is. Not being closed minded though - tried a shop with the ducts black and not so keen, reminds me of those awful black ducts on a Ferrari F430 (disclaimer - I realise that not everyone will believe the F430 ducts to be awful).
Oh right. I've got AST's, so they could have camber bolts and they've not been adjusted when re-fitted. I'll have to have a look if the rain holds off for more than 10 minutes!
Thanks Aluco.
Ahhh, so they're an aftermarket part only? I'm pretty sure none were fitted by AST when they did my suspension.
That's why I'm thinking that the only thing that could affect my camber is the top mount, or if something is seriously amiss with the new parts fitted.
Can anyone clarify?
I picked up my car today after it's been repaired from a curb impact on the passenger side. They've sorted the tracking, but I told them not to worry too much as I'm getting it set up in a weeks time.
However the impacted side now has positive camber and the unaffected side still has negative...
Got it back! It drives like a pig! Negative camber one side, positive on the other. Hope Mr Fish can fix it in a week's time.
Anyway, a couple more s**t pics...
Just been sent a pic from the body shop of it all sprayed in orange and i think you could be right! Unfortunately I can't post pics from work, will have to wait until later.
