No. In that pic it looks lacquered but I think it just had some tyre shine spray on it. It does have a matt finish and just looks a little odd next to the gloss real stuff I think. I'm led to believe that if you lacquer the carbon vinyl slit won't show the "weave" part.

Take them off and score a cross into an old box and place the bolt thread in the cross then you'll be able to spray the whole bolt head :)
Spraying them while on the car, are you mad man?! Lol
I did the same when I got my carbon splitter but the carbon vinyl doesn't look good next to the real stuff imo.
