If it were me I'd have done a fresh install but trying to decipher a parent's organisation of a 10 year old I3 3gb laptop isn't going to be fun
Unfortunately I've seen flag for the health of the 500gb HDD (to my amazement) my idea of a cheap 240gb SSD maybe a tight fit space wise [emoji17]
bumping my own question ive old hp laptop which may benefit from a ssd its got remote access to sites printers and other items programs & a user who couldn't deal with a fresh setup & its hassle id like to avoid would cloning carry everything over seamlessly
thanks
I'd imagine so but I wasn't convinced by some of the negative feedback's on eBay specials by the time I'd factored in next day delivery free avalanche & 10% discount
Cheers I'm going to get a 500gb 860 eventually
.
my preferred retailer has put the price up & don't even have stock
Amazon the price changes by the minute & wont arrive till next week if you trust their market place seller

The 860 is speaking to me but my tightness says no it's almost a quarter of what the laptop cost in 2013 although its still a fraction of what a surface would cost [emoji23]
It's alright surposedly it's ment to allocate this for thing's that you frequently open
https://www.itechtics.com/hdd-vs-ssd-vs-sshd-one-best/ Although the price difference between a SSD & SSHD isn't a big factor anymore
I'm no expert the only thing that has changed in the year's ive been...
To me that sounds like it's got a hybrid drive which cache parts of the system on a small solid state chip to boost speed that's the theroy of them but they still not as good as a SSD drive that's what I've been lead to understand
No reason why you couldn't upgrade it
Thanks I'm going to give a SSD a whirl [emoji23]
Anything about which brand to go with I usually rate SanDisk for SD cards
This Samsung worth the extra ?
