I better buy some good ones now pmsl. These Maxxis didn't impress too much, can feel the road well and inspires confidence to keep foot in while on full lock but felt bit slower than normal on my favourite island nearby. Might have to chuck them on the back if change in psi makes no difference.
Jamie : yes I am serious. If I had a dedicated track car then I would probably have 888s or the like. But for the average person, like me doing trackdays in my daily road car, IMHO it just isn't worth the trouble. From the days I have done, with the greatest respect to people running 888s/48s...
Have to agree, from what I've seen, dedicated track day tyres just don't seem worthwhile.
Good road tyres seem to last longer and offer almost as much grip.
I've heard of even lower cold for the Ring but wouldn't go too low. For normal track use those figures are about right. Reckon trial and error, see how you go/what feels right.
Guys, will you add your name to this list if you're still coming.

Go for the one you prefer, it's going to be your car, they are all excellent track cars from factory. You don't need to spend a fortune for track use, just upgrade the brakes and you're ready - Brembo discs, Ferodo DS2500 pads, Dot 5.1 fluid and braided lines. That's all you NEED. That's all...
Brown diamonds?
I got wound up the first time, that's why I mentioned patience. My lacquer ran a bit, so just sprayed it heavily until it made the ran part spill over the side pmsl.

Superb read and well done to all concerned. Have to admit the further I got down, the more I was expecting it all to go horribly wrong. So glad it didn't.
