    It's illegal to mix summer with winter tyres you need them all round or not at all, winter tyres are great, get some 15' wheel and tyres from cam skill, toyo snow proxies are around £50 a corner iirc

    Price is spot on IMHO looks nice, make sure you have receipts for belts though.

    172s are dirt cheap now

    I think cheap ones are cheap for reasons, they've been to the moon and back, not looked after, need belts doing, body work is a state etc etc. A Decent 172, with sensible miles, that needs no work doing with no problems will still get/cost good money. As said they are 10yr old cars....
