I like them but in all fairness, I think realistically you'll be lucky to get over 175 with those mods. Mate of mine has a BRM so essentially same block. He's spent thousands and is in the trade. He's got throttle bodies, ditched the VVC for uprated cams, steel crank, serious headwork etc etc...
See where you're coming from but it's for trackdays. More important things to consider first IMHO. Whilst things can fail and accidents can happen, thankfully they're very rare. So much better to do brakes, suspension, tyres and instruction first.
About £250 plus fitting for Brembo discs, Ferodo ds2500 pads, braided lines and dot5.1 fluid.
Toyo R888 track tyres.
Search some threads on here for track day projects, there's some serious money thrown at some. Give you some ideas but each to their own. Depends how far you want to go but mine...
As Tony says above. This was £1400 to buy, then uprated brakes only to get this=job done. All you will need honestly, was keeping up with Caterhams and other far more expensive cars. Thoroughly enjoyed it all day and returned 18mpg on track.
Heroes don't like ABS and that's ACTUALLY FACTUALLY FACT! I can vouch for Chip's ABS comments as I was with him at Bedford and couldn't tell any difference in his braking when he was chauffering me.
The answer you're probably looking for is along these lines...
Brakes, tyres and suspension are things to consider upgrading. As it's going to be driven hard anything could break/fall apart as it goes with the territory.
Sure you will mate, I got braver as the day went on. Lee came out with me later and was pretty impressed as I'd never been there before. Will definitely be as regular as funds allow at Bedford, think it's perfect for Clio power as you're not revving it's nuts off for long periods. Nice to meet...
Yep totally standard Si,BTM have just done Brembo HCs, DS2500 pads and braided lines for me and that's it.
Don't need anything else for Bedford IMO, perfect track for Clios. I love Donington and Mallory but Bedford just suits the car so well.
