    i tried to do it again but froze (as expected) is there a guide on how to re-install windows? just dont want to make any mistakes ive saved all my documents, pics onto a usb stick. i dont really have anything else to save. ive only got limewire, mozilla on that ive put on myself.

    can you do a system restore in safe mode? if not the computer freezes in normal mode so i cant get to do it

    yeah iain checked the start up menu, unclicked everything, restarted it in normal mode and its still freezes?? do you think re-installing windows in they best thing to do? will it take ages?

    as said i can get past the sign in stage, but if i try to do anything it freezes. the errors are: error code: 0F00: 0244 msg: disk_0_Block 54346472: cant read, replace disk, or remove write protection. code: 0F00: 0240 block 54346473: read error, replace disk.

    ive ran a system test from the boot up menu when you press F12 its shown up 3 errors about the hdd, the fan went through the test fine. mike its an inspiron 1525

    well ive copied the hdd test thing, booted the computer but nothing else happens? is there anything else i can do to sort it? it works fine in safe mode, but nothing else
