Could be the coil pack mine went on my cat twice! So by the sounds of it they're subceptable to breaking try and get a replacement coil pack from the scrappy so you can test the idea so it's cheap and not pocket destroying

Close I'm 19 lol! I just see lots of shiny things and think want! It's a curse :( and the wheels are going on eBay on Sunday and I'm going to get a set of 172 wheels and spray them anthracite grey and leave it at that also some coil overs but I swear I will stop at that ad it's costing alot of...
Breather tube? Ive had a rough idle on mine before sounded awful and shook the whole car (but mine isnt a sport its a bog standard MK2 PH1 ) well thats what my problem was anyway just a thought? also see this guys thread I replied too...
No problem mate. If not with the engine running pull the idle sensors out one by one from the throttle body see if it affects the engine. If you find one that doesnt could be faulty? (although im no mechic I also tryed this on mine, people may say other wise)

Checked the Breather tube? Mine idled like a tank also but it had just had the head gasket done and the mechanic didnt fix the breather tube back properly and it fell onto my timing belt and rubbed through it? I replaced it and all fine again :)
I am ditching the 18" wheels this weekend and getting a set of 16" Clio Sport 172 alloys then painting them anthracite grey and I will still have money to get a full set of adjustable coil overs to play with lol just have to wait for my friend to fit them
Ahhh Ill be going for the first option then Danny I think as im not clued up on adjusting and stuff and my car is far from track worthy lol! Thanks for posting that, it has definatly helped more looks like im looking at springs :)
Thanks guys!
That looks sweet also! Im looking for some EXTREMLEY subtle bumpers aswell ive looked at the Williams F1 body kit as it does look nice not over the top but that bumper there looks real nice! not over the top and subtle
Thanks Narf so on a MK2 PH1 Clio which would be recommended? Ive been told coilovers are springs around the damper but on my car my springs and damper are seperate?
Now that does look nice rob! I must say just found a set of OZ ultraleggeras Like you said in gun metal grey brand new for £157 (no tyres but theyre easily found) and i think Ill get a red pinstripe around the edge maybe just to make them stand out a bit more?
Right since my roasting of having stupid wheels on my car I have found some OZ ultraleggeras for £157 (brand new... no tyres (£30 a tyre from a guy I know) ) but yeh so with these 15" wheels (should I choose to get them) I will have room for lowering :) now what would be the best for my Mk2...
Thanks Giraffe (Dont know your proper name) :P I will get some of them alloys looked at and I know they look funny but I wanted to be different and it makes alot of people look (some giggle ill be honest) but thats what I wanted something that stood out from the other Clio's out there lol
I still dont know how to get a membership lol ive looked and looked but no cigar :(
(saying that I dont think im keeping the car much longer as i might be getting a saxo in august I just want a bigger engine lol )
Can anyone link me to the membership payment page please?
So what choice alloys do you think I should get in the 16" range? Standard renault ones off a cup or some aftermarket ones? Im not up for spending alot of money as them alloys cost me £200 and ive had them on since october
Im not sure the car seems fine and doesnt struggle that im aware of with the wheels on? I could be wrong though im far from a mechanic and I try not to push the car either way as with the ammount of police about these days doing nothing useful but trying to catch cars not criminals id rather...
I love the wheels my mechanic said we will put 18's on I was intrigued as to how he would do that... when they was on I was convinced they was the right choice and im not interested in going fast the speed limit will do for me :)
Thanks guys the wheels themselves aren't rubbing by alot they have rubbed a patch about 20mm x 20mm ish on my chassis all round so maybe I can get away with 5-10mm spacers or something as I don't really want the wheels protruding much from the body
