I got a reserved Renault space, I have passed my bought ticket along to a 21 Turbo mate.
I've asked C&M if any more pre-booked spaces are coming up on Eventbrite.
Will clarify nearer the time if there are any drive-in slots on the day. If not, like the Jap night tonight, they are specifying...
I was having a load of stuff blasted and coated for the 21 so i hoofed a few bits in for the 9 too, primed them up on Sunday. Fuel pump/filter bracket, towing eyes, stuff like that. Pretty sure I took the wheel cage up there too, didnt realise till now I didnt get it back so will have to chase...
Yes and no, this isn't even my primary project (see the 21 thread), this is to fill in the gaps when i'm waiting for stuff for the 21, or have run out of money lol
You need to clean it up first, get in there with a wire wheel on a grinder. Once all the loose shite is gone, treat with Hydrate...
Long way to go yet, rest of the brakes to refurb, defo needs a clutch and may as well rebuild the lump when I get it out as I have the majority of parts for it already.
I havent forgotten about the old 9, however I have procrastinated on the brakes since stripping the compensator, in the hope I would stumble across a solution.
The diamond gods are being kind to me. Brand new old stock OE compensator popped up on one of the R9/11 facebook pages yesterday, I was...
Yes, but not in the usual sense. It's fast but not ballistic, it handles well but it's not as good as a 1*2, it's the sense of occasion and the noise that makes it an event. It gets quite a lot of attention everywhere it goes.
Don't leave it that long, you will risk a more serious failure.
I 'extended' the life of mine a bit by missing 3rd all together on most driving, you can go 1-2-4 without much of a problem on normal driving with the ratio's being so close. Got me the few months I needed till I ripped it all out...
I think parts wise when I did my own it was around £350, so that plus a days labour, and make sure wherever you go has the proper F4R locking tool set.
Come try mine if you're anywhere near the midlands, for a net cost of under £900 its phenomenal.
Why not try yourself anyway? Its just a big 3D jigsaw puzzle :)
Looks really good, I think it just about carries off the carbon bonnet.
Do me a favour would you, where you posted the link earlier to where the Trophy boot spoiler came from, i'd be interested in buying one if you can verify the fit is good. I have a replica one on mine, but if you look along...
Full build thread with detailed pictures and wiring diagrams here:

TL : DR - should have done it sooner, and it cost me £880 total (breakdown in thread) to get it on the road start to finish, which is absolutely ridiculous...
Quite a while since I updated this, done about 2000 miles in the last year, jump in and turn the key and off we go.
Retro Rides this weekend just gone, they very kindly waived the pre-98 rule for the Vee and let me on the club stand and on the hill in the morning. It got loads of attention and...
Go for a megane powered 197 (Meglio). It's got all the good bits on the 197, all the good bits of the Megane 225, no trade off other than you don't get the screaming NA top end. I converted mine and it's transformed the car, and I get 20% better MPG.
Yes, thanks everyone for supporting 1)the charity and 2)our club, we dont have membership fees or any advertising at all so we run the whole club solely from what we generate in the shop. Much appreciated :) We're lucky in the fact that we have raised enough to stay afloat, and fund the giant...
This is what will be hosted in the TurboRenault gazebo for general consumption by all, all you have to do is come and be nice to us :-)
Obviously the giant Toblerone will be surrounded by armed guards and attack dogs (and Ron) but there is a case of large coconut Toblerones in the general...
EFI Parts do a boost module thing that allows mapping
https://www.efi-parts.co.uk/index.php?productID=338
Then add on all your ancilliary stuff like intercooler, pipework and so on, a proper map, and installation and you're well past two grand.
On a mildly related note, I bought my R21 Quadra 21 years ago this month....from a scrapyard
it's so long ago we were still using non-phone camera's with film in!
Not sure it is tbh, we did do a 5kg Cadbury Dairy Milk too but not any more - shame as I never got hold of one.
(thats not me btw, some weirdo off google images!)
I reckon I could step up, I fuckin love Toblerone and after 14 years of working here i'm pretty good at piling it back LOL...
I know the panel fit is rubbish, but it's a 1986 Renault, it was already rubbish hahaha
I have also sourced brand new boot seal rubber, and door seal rubber for it. The door seal is shared with the 5, 9, 11, 19, 21 and Alpine by the looks of it so that will be in the club shop soon, the boot...
So I did a bit of cleaning up in the boot space
Laid some rust inhibiting primer and drilled some holes in the new panel to plug weld it to the bottom panel.
Then took a deep breath and started tacking it in
I mean, a bodyshop might look at that and be horrified but i'm...
