Have you guys ever heard the phrase "like flies arguing over a turd"?
Two FWD hatchbacks in a drag race?
Which has got the slightly less gash interior out of two different econoboxes?
Does Dagenham or Dieppe build cars to a higher standard?
If you want to win drag races, buy RWD Japanese and...
Just to clarify - I said that when rolling along in traffic that I might as well be driving a 1.2, not that it pulled no better than a 1.2.
Yes I have the Cerb, and that does give a certain point of reference, but it doesn't actually *feel* as fast as you'd think, because it's got such long...
For those who enjoyed the read - if you're bored at work and looking to kill some time, then here's some bits I wrote about the TVR: http://www.auto-journals.com/journals/TVR?model=Cerbera&journal=93&entry=699 (three separate entries)
Yeah, sorry about that - there were paragraphs when I wrote it in word, but the forum's formatting doesn;t seem to recognise them.
Can you not edit once somebody has replied?
I picked up my Clio 182 on Wednesday. I’d actually bought it just over a week previously, but it had a wee dent in the tailgate so it went straight from the auction to my bodyshop man. When I picked it up, he’d not only repaired the dent, but also been right over the car and remedied any other...
Fair play, didn't realise there was more too it on a Clio (still, not exactly beyond the wit of man!)
Wee bit strong in response to a fairly tongue-in-cheek post
Seriously? You guys have a fitting guide for spark plugs? I'm kinda tempted to say that if you need a fitting guide, you should be leaving it to somebody else.
I don't pick up my Clio til this afternoon, but I'd strongly suspect that fitting plugs is pretty much the same as any other car...
It's what I'd assumed, as it clearly has the cup hubs wheels and rear spoiler, but no mention of "Cup" on the build sheet. Neither Renault UK, nor a random dealer I phoned had any ideas though.
Does everyone tend to go for Megane or aftermarket splitters (do they fit properly?), or is it worth...
I've just bought a 182, which is supposed to have both cup packs fitted - but the front spoiler is missing, and there's no sign it was ever fitted (no screwholes).
So I just phoned up Renault UK to get them to check the original build sheet and they told me it was listed as having the "Extreme...
Well, not strictly a Scot by birth, but I have lived here for 7 years, and my daughter was born in the Royal infirmary.
While I've got the attention of the Embra folks, any recommendations for specialists in town?
So where's the "essential info for new owners" thread then?;)
I know about the aux belt, and it's just been done, and somebody told me about taking out the seat spacers, so that'll be the first job after it arrives.
What other pearls of wisdom can you impart to help pass the time til the wee...
Hi all,
Just bought a 182 full fat to scratch an itch for a decent hot hatch (and give the mrs something to drive to work in!).
It's in London at the moment (bought from Balckbushe auctions), so I'll be heading down next week to pick it up.
Only slight fly in the ointment is that its missing...
