My girlfriend wants a Dci 80!! can i ask what is considered high mileage on one of these? i see plenty that are 100k - 120k and im assuming they'll do close to twice this? yay or nay? cheers ta in advance (excluding the obligatory use the search posts)
If you change to 15's you'll be able to run it lower than it is and it wont scrub!! i never got my 15's to scrub, the extra give in the 50 profile tyres makes a world of difference. Get some lightweight 15's 2118's are uber heavy.
If someone phoned me asking about my previous clio i wouldnt be all open and pleased about it, as a result i would end the conversation as quick as possible giving very little meaningful info. Others maybe different but thats how i would play it. Your right to be cautious as you dont want to buy...
I sold my 182 both cup packs on 75k for £1800 so it shocks me people are happy to pay twice that for something similar. There are some good cars in the forsake section I would have a look there.
Scaremungering aside, what is it about the Clio that appeals to you? Thats quite a lot of money for a not perfect 182. Atleast it's from a dealer so there is some come back if something doesn't feel right.
Give it a test drive and make your own conclusions. I hated the standard suspension setup, most people say its amazing so you really need to decide for yourself.
I totally agree!!
At first glance the horse appeared to be spooked by the recent steep climb in gold prices!! leading to the kind of staunch incommunicativity you would normally expect from something considerably less equine. Its difficult to draw any meaningful conclusion from this angle.
If that were the case then my 182 3/4up would have driven like my 200.. the reality is, it didnt.. clearly didnt so im forced (and happy too) thrash the sh@t out of the 200 until it loosens up enough to even get close to what im used to experiencing from previous Renaultsports.
Im mechanically sympathetic as in i'll let the engine warm before punishing it but other than that i'll be annoyed if i dont induce engine or gearbox failure within warranty!! After last christmas's 182 gearbox rebuild i see renault owing me atleast 2 gearbox's or 1 huge engine rebuild :)
Agree'd 2000 miles is nothing but given they are essentially the same lump i cant believe how differently they respond. Dont get me started on the brakes!! ive never driven a car in which you have to look behind you before you brake!! currently braking is more exciting than accelerating. Also in...
Im currently on approaching 2000 miles. I'll admit ive never driven a 182 from new and my 182 felt its best when i sold it henk'd at 70k. Dont get me wrong it is night and day a more accomplished drive than the 182 but as of yet i just cant make feel as if it has the same urgency as the 182.
I cant get my head round the 200. In my 182 its sweet spot ie optimum overtaking scenario was either at 40mph dropping into second or driving at 65-70 and dropping it to 3rd, both of which resulted in the car exploding into savage acceleration. So far the 200 feels a world apart from the 182...
I would say the Cup has a greater potential to be the faster option, but we all know how power from car to car can vary enough to negate the Cups weight loss. For me the Cup is in the same league as the Ek9 type r race base thing, its a good start to something convincingly purposeful but in its...
You need to look closer!! :) one thing i would definitely check on a test drive is high rev gear changes, a new/good box wont have any trouble changing at high revs (nearly limiter) but a box with dodgy syncro will crunch or worse wont change gear!! 1st and 3rd were bad in my 182 before the box...
Are you going to be there when they choose a height? i would say its a very personal thing how you want it to look. When i lowered my clio it wasnt as simple as install coilovers.. done :) i ended up over a long period of time raising/lowering, cutting out bits of the arch liner to stop rubbing...
