Right, I'm looking at buying either the AF DA system (buying all 3 pads and polish's) or buying the Megs MF DA system with the compound and the cutting pads. This will be for the 330, the paint isn't in the worst condition, but its a bit dull and being German its going to be hard (right?)...

How long did you spend prepping the paint?

The AF site says the system has been developed to work DA's, nothing about rotarys. Which is understandable IMO.

It'll have a butterfly valve like my 330Ci that works off the vacuum from the engine. You can plug the vacuum hose with a golf tee and push the valve open and it will stay open constantly. It may work slightly different on the E92, but the principle is the same. It'll be down the keeping noise...

Yeah, Chapppers, its not rubber. Its painted plastic as Ads said. I'll see if a hand polish does the trick. Wasn't sure if it would be gone forever.
