60mm springs on standard shocks were really harsh, I hated them. Upgraded to vmax coilovers eventually and they were loads better! The rokkor coilovers on ebay seem to be ok for the money. Welcome BTW!

Fuel consumption will be no different really, we average 40 mpg in the cup daily driving and the tce's that we have as loan cars only do that too! Tax and insurance may be slightly less but can't imagine it's massive unless your young? And those tyres are hideously expensive (195/50/16?)
