Ok, ive been doing some investigative work on the history of the Clio Williams and i have tracked down 0001. Anyone interested in knowing the story?;) I also have pics.
LOL. Lucky you. I know plenty of ppl who are stung cos of points. I know someone who pays £700 for a 1.8 golf because he has 9 or 10 points and thats 3rd party only and hes 28.
A friend was 29 and had no NCB and insured a 106 GTi for £700 par example. So if your gonna stay on your dads policy and it doesnt cost u anything id just carry on. Probably save you money long term.
Personally i dont think NCB make much of a difference when you get in your late 20s. I have two cars so i chop and change policies depending on what im driving most. When i change from one policy with 4 years no claims to one with 1 years no claims it makes about £30 to 100 quids difference...
Question from a non technical person. If some turbos use intercoolers to cool the air before it enters the cylinder, is there any way to cool the air on a normally aspirated car before it enters either the airbox, or the cylinder? Any DIY tricks?
Sh*t ill have to try that, my shopping from last week is starting to smell. Anyone seen the button on the driver side of the car just posterior to the rear window on a Williams? Its says unleaded only if you unscrew it. What the hell is that for, and why wont my car start?
When i was over at Hill Power i saw Nicks car, and he has run the air intake from where the wash bottle sits at the back of the engine. He put some megane bonnet vents in his bonnet just above it, says it works brilliantly. Anyone else tried this? What do you think? Means putting vents in the...
Whats the button for on the boot? The square one in the middle? And how the hell do you get stuff out of the car easily without dragging it through the front doors?
Slot is about 5 to 10 cms back from front wheel. You can see it if you get level with the underside of the car. Jack slots in from the side nearest the centre line of the car. Just line up the tab on the jack with the slot.
On the A47 going into Norwich today on a bridge. I went through doing 80 on my clock so should be ok. Its ironic, but the only effect they had was to make everyone break suddenly once the van had been spotted. It was a straight bit of duel carridgeway, no safety issue atall. And they say theyre...
I know the best bank loan. Apparently if you go into HSBC with an uzi and ask for all da fecking money bit*h or youll get it good, they give you sh*t loads of cash. An i understand there is no interest. I asked Renault if theyd match that but they said no:@.
The downside is that if you get...
Get a lightweight racing battery and ss exhaust.
Get rid of the Cat
lose the rear wiper and motor
Mats
Drill holes in anything that is not structural
Lightweigh tyres and magnesium wheels
Any unsprung weight removed counts as double weight saving.
Single wiper conversion...
Your wrong cliocup. If i wear my lucky pants i get 4 BHP extra out of my Williams. And sometimes if i dont stand on the cracks in the pavement i can fly to the moon in it.
OK SideSHowBob, but you make sure it goes to a good home. And i promise i wont say i told you so, when you miss that 320 BHP beast.
Why dont you just get a cheap runner? Spend a couple of grand on a diesel to get to work and save the RX007 for showing off. Running costs go right down and...
KEEP THE RX7
Cups are fantastic cars but aint no tuned RX7
I swear youll regret it
Get a second job to pay for the petrol
It looks so shiney too
Dont do it man
If you could get a fibreglass bonnet youd be approaching elise territory in terms of lightness.
Kerb weight - 990 kg (standard williams)
Power - 150 BHP
= 6.6 kilos per BHP
Now its probably not linear but shed 6.6 kilos and youve got the equivalent of adding 1 BHP?
I thought kerb weight was with a 75 kilo driver plus full tank of fuel?
With a fivers worth of juice mine in 900 ish kgs
Heres a list of weights (for a Williams) accurately weighed on a calibrated Balance
Spare tire - 18.6 kg
Parcel shelf - 4.8 kg
Rear seats 3.4 + 2.4 + 9.2 kg...
