i got a gskill ssd, windows 7 64bit and 8g of ram i can't tell you howquick it is, those saying wait for ssd haven't tried it, it's awesome if you can afford it
ok well it seems windows 2000 see's all 8 cores, v difficult to work out if it actually uses them, any ideas? is it oracle8i that would determine this? anyone got an idea?
it's seeing 4g of ram which is odd as i was sure the box has 10gig....sounds like i'm going to have to open it up.
it's...
odd, i have a windows 200 advanced server on a quad core box and it only sees two processors, i thought this was an OS limitation, or did you mean it sees them at the hardware partitioning stage?
thanks mate.
1) interetsting, so it's like an option at OS installation point, ok.
2) apparently the hardware does according to the windows 2000 datacentre document on MS site
3) gen 5? thought it might need 8 physical processors, but a dual quad would be much cheaper!
Hi Guys, i know someone between you all is bound to have had experience using this so thought i'd ask here before i start opening up support calls :/
If anyone can, i'd like a bit of help on a problem i'm facing at work.
We have a program which only runs on Oracle 8i, which in turn only runs...
trouble is, unless you have money to burn, justifying hardware to run a game at 60fps is hard , MORE SO, when there are hardly many games out there that will look as good as that...crysis being the exception. i run 4870x2 witha decent quad core and game slook pretty sweet but i still find myself...
Orb: been listening to it non stop, can't get over the quality. superb program, cannot believbe you don't have to pay for it. just shared some videos, will try out streaming to iphone later :) so far it all works perfectly
can i just say - kirspwee, thank you mate. that is perfect, works so well aswell. it's awesome, already able to see 120g of all my music from anywhere in the worl. absofuckinglutely awesome. Free aswell.
Streams direct to windows media player so can use keyboar dcontrol, quality is awesome...
Basically...is there a way to take for example your personal music collection, broadcast it on the web somehow so i can connect to my library and stream from my home pc? autentication would be helpful obviously...but basically i just want to listen to my music remotely....
doing it...
ssd's vary GREATLY, read and write speeds change the price of for exmaple a 64g drive from £100 to £300.
i have the offical dell 64 ssd for sale on here actually, it's pretty medium range, but is good value for what it is, priced around the £100 mark. I have in my gaming pc a higher spec one...
funny though isn't it, how some games u care about and some u don't. i for example was obssesed with c&c, soldier of fortune II and more recently SF4, i've got pretty high up in the rankings (G1) but even with 80% win rate, it always dawns on you how many other players out there are better, even...
i run windows 7 on an ssd......believe me, it's faster than a 5400 :)
lol weird IT guy...
