just got the 8520, not sure about the new touchpad thing...quite hard to get used to. 8900 still number 1 atm.

we use ms dynamics, it's quite good for what we need.

ok well it seems windows 2000 see's all 8 cores, v difficult to work out if it actually uses them, any ideas? is it oracle8i that would determine this? anyone got an idea? it's seeing 4g of ram which is odd as i was sure the box has 10gig....sounds like i'm going to have to open it up. it's...

odd, i have a windows 200 advanced server on a quad core box and it only sees two processors, i thought this was an OS limitation, or did you mean it sees them at the hardware partitioning stage?

thanks mate. 1) interetsting, so it's like an option at OS installation point, ok. 2) apparently the hardware does according to the windows 2000 datacentre document on MS site 3) gen 5? thought it might need 8 physical processors, but a dual quad would be much cheaper!

trouble is, unless you have money to burn, justifying hardware to run a game at 60fps is hard , MORE SO, when there are hardly many games out there that will look as good as that...crysis being the exception. i run 4870x2 witha decent quad core and game slook pretty sweet but i still find myself...

ssd's vary GREATLY, read and write speeds change the price of for exmaple a 64g drive from £100 to £300. i have the offical dell 64 ssd for sale on here actually, it's pretty medium range, but is good value for what it is, priced around the £100 mark. I have in my gaming pc a higher spec one...
