I use halfords oil on my other cars, as its only £15 with the trade card I wouldn't put it in the 172, the dephaser won't like it lol I wouldn't pay full price for it either get some decent oil

could be the bottom ball joint i reckon will also fail an MOT

Surely you would need to connect it back up come MOT time Because the engine light comes on because the second lambda is detecting high emissions? Or is that not the case

i usually have to plug the tv ariel direct to the tv then click 'source' on the remote till it comes up with the freeview
