Hey team,
Ok, i posted about this before as part of an essay style post but it was lost amid other posts. Rather than bumping that i thought i'd give it a thread of its own.
Firstly, car has been missing terribly of late and after a quick pull down the other night, i noted loads of flash over...
The price of that car and the fact that it is buckin identical to mine makes me SAD...FFS!
However. This comment made me HAPPY
"There's surely no better looking Clio model than this, and few better handling road cars at any price."
Just to clarify.....my car HAS a cat. The first map Henk gave me was a 98 Ron map that threw the light on......he told me he gave me a decay map by mistake that was for a car with no cat.....he then gave me the correct map, 98 Ron for a car WITH a cat.
So there are definitely 2 different maps...
I would guess that this is the spring that opposes the up / down movement in this shaft......i think that translates to the reverse gear engagement.
Does it feel a bit loose going into reverse?

if its burning it, you would see it given that amount of usage bud......that's an awful lot of oil to be going through. any old garage would do a compression test for you by the way, no need to pay Reno money. Where you going? Hursts?
at most......mine would use about 500ml between services to...
Re: CAMBELT SERVICE, CORRECT TOOLS BUT CAMS KEEP OUT OF TIME BY VALVE SPRINGS FORCE!!
hooooo sheeeit. This is what scares me about timing these engines :(
Unlucky buddy.

Re: CAMBELT SERVICE, CORRECT TOOLS BUT CAMS KEEP OUT OF TIME BY VALVE SPRINGS FORCE!!
My word.....you just described EXACTLY how mine behaves. :S
Have 2 cam plugs sitting in the garage right now for the day when a.) i ever get round to doing what you are doing and b.) acquire the appropriate...
Re: CAMBELT SERVICE, CORRECT TOOLS BUT CAMS KEEP OUT OF TIME BY VALVE SPRINGS FORCE!!
This floating pully lark mangles my head a bit.......coming from a world of woodruff keys and drill bits to lock everything.
Would love to have a go myself some time as I am still sure Renault did a bad job...
This is fine bud if you only have issues with the gel pad but the issue on mine was the base layer of silicone on the sensor that was crap.
I don't think IBU gel would fill that gap properly
My approach was to get it as close to done right as possible.
Of course if you have a sore windscreen...
Its the wrong screen bud.....i had the same on mine.
Not even botchable to be fair. You can stick a sensor on to bring the auto lights back and settle for that if you want. I had mind sticky foamed on for a year or too until some lovely boulder spanked my screen. Then i made sure the right one...
easy......as long as you have the right window with the bracket to fit it.
i also posted a thread of what to do with regards to the gel pad that is also required

Hey guys,
Boys-a-dear am i having some fun with this car....anyways.
Lately, i have noticed a few things in the Clio and wanted to run them by you to see if anyone else has noted similar or has any ideas.
Firstly - grinding noise:
So, when setting off and when already moving (only...
Not sure I understand, the same main dealer would end up handing it straight back to me saying they couldn't do it
Just to clarify.......I did ask them if they would do that and they replied "not if they cannot get the parts"
Its a fair point bud but as you say, we crossed the threshold of common sense spending a while ago.......i still really wanted OEM to the core too tbh.
It will just stay as it is with sleepy shocks up front till i think of something else.......or Renault do (not holding breath)...
I don't think you get to replace that inner boot buddy
If its the same one im thinking of (which it looks like) then it is an inner fit boot which forced me to get a new d/s
:/
Sorry to be the bearer

^ this.
My symptoms exactly buddy.
My decision that i am firing at Renault today is to just refund the dampers. I am not going to do the jumping about and associated expense of buying and setting up camber bolts any time i make a change to the suspension. I don't know what it is like for you...
Sooooooo.......
Long time coming.
The case was raised to Renault Europe as Renault UK had no clue about the part specifications etc.
Renault Europe confirmed that they changed manufacturer/design of the shocks in the middle of 2009 and they have no information concerning why there are...
Hi gang,
I thought i would drop a bit of info in here that i hope will help some of you with poor performing auto wipers.
Mine have been utterly tripe since the minute i tool ownership of the car.
After a bit of searching, I found a product called Sensor Tack Ready Plus from a company called...
Hey bud, I haven't changed the arb bushes at all (4 of them) but i hadn't factored that they may cause skittishness.
The outer ones actually seemed ok when i had them off (to replace the bottom arms) but i guess that means nothing. They were still well lubed if that means anything.
The inners...
Morning gents,
Well, as far as my understanding goes, these are not cup shocks. They have the green sticker on them instead of the yellow/blue one that the cup shocks come with and they are also oil filled rather than the gas cup shocks.
These have been bought by going into my local Renault...
