Had mine nearly 2 years, awesome daily and track hack. Slapped a big turbo and a load of bolt on nearly straight away. shave over 300bhp no major issues to note. I cover about 35-55 miles a day in it and averages around 34/36mpg, shave over 40mpg on a run though.
That's just a rubber trim doubt its that at all as the whole lot comes out easily and isn't a proper seal.
I also have a whistle when I go over 50. I've put it down to the windscreen needing resealing, which can wait until I get a big stone chip....
The replacement ecu is on and we are running very well. As its running a base map it didn't take too long to set it up again. Managed to get out and about for some testing and all is good so far after completing about 10 miles. Need to get some more done this week before mapping on the 28th
So... slightly chavvy update. With my front splitter I've always felt the side skirts looked too high compared to the front of the car. I've always snubbed people like Maxton for there extensions thinking they were some vacuum formed plastic that wound break at the first instance, and for being...
one way to check is put it in 4th and watch the boost gauge and how it reacts, do the same in 5th and if it holds back more you may have clutch slipping.
Clutch one in mine intermittently slips, I think its light contamination. If i track day it or beat on it its not an issue, only does it...
I've been looking back at some of my track vids, not sure mine gets that hot tbh
Daily driving is around 70 80 after traffic.
Track looks like 130/140 ish
I know bud, I think its been the same for the last 3 orders I've placed with them, that and incorrect parts twice! glutton for punishment, I wont do it again.
6 weeks from ordering the compbrake top mounts through Ktec and still cant even provide an ETA on delivery. I've now asked for a refund.
I swear customer service has gone out of the window these days. Is it just me or am I stupid to expect better? I don't feel I should even have to chase for...
I hope you are replacing the clutch pack and rear main seal too? only asking as you haven't mentioned it.
I've not removed it myself but I would be removing the "spike" from the gearbox. You may also need to lower the subframe to have enough clearance for the engine to droop.
Where are you...
Spacing is completely off between the 2 unfortunately. The seats are quite different also, the mk5 seats are height adjustable so the frames are very different also.
Not done much on this, still waiting now 5 weeks (yes I know Christmas hasn't helped) on some compbrake top mounts, I ordered them through K Tec... when will I learn... Every single item or service I have had through them has been nothing but problems.
Anyway I digress. The front brakes have...
great watch if you like the geeky side of stuff. Chris at EFI parts wasn't wrong when saying I was out of hpfp on the car
Ive got a b58tu pump sat in the garage that im looking to fit up in the future. Should potentially unleash a few more ponies :D
Brembo conversion, that said I used the stock setup on 2 track days with better fluid and just brembo max pads. If i wasn't planning on a few more track days (and they didn't pop for sale at the right price) I'd be still using that setup with some extra cooling. I have also removed the wind...
I've also been toying with the colour of the side stripes on the car. Managed to get a great colour match vinyl. Threw some on to see what I thought. Another thing on the Christmas break list is to remove them from the car and wrap them properly/better
I actually have a set of mk4 meg RS Lines seats too, they were miles off fitting but are the same as the RS seats just in a different colour. If Ren made a MK5 RS they would have probably been these seats in there. They even have a little Renault Sport tags in yellow on the sides :D
Just the...
Car is still doing the business on the daily commute. Decided to order up some mk5 RS (line) seats. They aren't a million miles off from fitting. My drivers seat is showing its age a little, 2015 and over 100k on them, these seats were from a 2023 car so should have some decent life left in...
I ran a Jr5 modus diesel box in my Twingo.... long but great for big power and top speed runs. Fitment should be the same as the Twingo box though.
Hydraulic clutch actuation and cable shift, shaft fitment is also different, they have the more modern style inputs into the box rather than the...
They couldn't match what I was already quoted though i did try them.
"I have looked at the information supplied and whilst we would like to provide you insurance for your vehicle, the premium you have quoted is particularly competitive and on this occasion we are unfortunately unable to match...
