    TDC Sensor

Nice one mate. Supposedly a bit of a pig of a job to swap it out, isn't it?

    TDC Sensor

Think mine has started with this issue last week. Starts up every time when cold - no issues. Once warm, it doesn't even crank over - complete nothingness from the starter or anything. I get the dash lights and fans kicking in, but no attempt to fire up. No codes, no EML, nothing untoward...

    Assetto Corsa EVO

Liking this more and more. Had a full field of AI cars and put myself to the back of the grid in an Escort Cosworth. Selected dynamic weather too. Managed about 3 laps in and then it started to drizzle. Didn't upset the car much, but then the rain got heavier. Definitely noticed that the...

    Clio 182 Purge Valve

Hi Mark, Pretty sure that you can have this coded-out and removed. https://cliosport.net/threads/purge-control-solenoid-valve-2005-trophy.844156/

    Golf games?

I liked 2K23 - but have to give it special mention as having some of the best title music I think that I've heard in a game. The music in 2K21 was good - but 2K23 raised the bar quite significantly.

Earth cable - what do I actually need?

Silly question (again, apologies as electrics are not my thing) - is it worth adding some dielectric grease onto the connectors of a replacement earth cable. Or does it not work that way?

Earth cable - what do I actually need?

Nice one mate - thanks for that.

Earth cable - what do I actually need?

Cheers Chris. I assume that the two colours are purely for fitter reference and that there's no actual difference between the cables?

Earth cable - what do I actually need?

Hi all, I seem to be going down various rabbit holes of details regarding getting a replacement earth cable - the one that is situated behind the arch liner of the nearside front, attached to the gearbox. I cannot find a Renault OEM part number for one and have seen posts online that say...

182 rear quarter panel replacement - Part 2

Mine aren't the best either tbh - some parts have even took on a purple-tinge to them, presumably through UV damage.

    Assetto Corsa EVO

I think it might be right to say that the Lotus Emira has the most compliant arse-end in any of the cars so far. Was great to drive that around Brands earlier. The Golf on the other hand. Show it a corner and the car responds with.... Literally pot luck if you have understeer, control, bit...

182 rear quarter panel replacement - Part 2

As per @JamesBryan below - that was pretty much the figure I paid when I had the drivers side done. Quite a bit of fabrication for that too - so I'm hoping the nearside is a bit less labour intensive. @Matt Cup - you can, but they are silly expensive for what they are. I checked (admittedly...

Cookie consents and web tracking getting out of control

Something has to change in the general browsing of Internet pages - surely? I'm trying to make my way into learning basic SQL - reading online various steps of database creation, tables, queries, that sort of thing. Yet every, single, website is riddled with the BS comment "We value your...

Amateur drifting at Brands.... ;) A shame that removing the driver from the in-car view, removes him from the replay view too.

    Cambelt advice needed

Yep - had mine done over at Nightingales the other week. Also had it done at Birchdown in the past. Both very reputable and know their stuff - so down to convenience really. Birchdown is just over 60 miles one-way for me, but has some great roads down Cheshire way. Nightingales are about a...

Sim Rigs - Let’s see yours

I took a punt on AliExpress - never ordered anything before in my life from there before - but it did turn up alright. It comes with a rudimentary clamp system that I didn't use - but was lucky that the shifter mounting plate on my NLR GT Track had holes already that lined up with the back of...

What have you done to your car today ???

Which speakers fit the dash? I assume they are smaller tweeter type units?

    Corrosion… is this the end?

Yep - the tin-worm has clearly got to that, but is most definitely fixable.

182 rear quarter panel replacement - Part 2

Managed to now get the Clio booked in for the 5th May. A bit longer wait than I was hoping for, but at least it will be all good come summer. :)

What have you done to your car today ???

Thanks for that - learn something new! I take it that there are pros & cons for both?

What have you done to your car today ???

In all honesty - I have no idea! Visually, the OEM speakers were different spec and had a different part number:- Front - Renault part number 8200069123 Rear - Renault part number 8200108290 They do look a fair bit different - front on the left, rear on the right.

What have you done to your car today ???

Nice one. :) The difference I've noticed, is subtle but clearly there. Short of spending £££ on a stereo upgrade that I've no real interest in, these have just added a bit more to what I've already got. If anything, I might need to reduce the bass setting a little on my head unit!

What have you done to your car today ???

Hi mate, The Renault wiring terminated in a white connector (seen in that 2nd pic above) that was incompatible as a direct fit into both sets of Alpine speakers. The link below shows one pack that contains two adapters for £4.99 - so you'll need two packs, if you upgrade all four speakers...

Not yet mate - it did cross my mind if I took the dash out, later in the year.

What have you done to your car today ???

Updated the OEM speakers today with some Alpine units and adapter cables. Definitely happy with the mild upgrade - just makes the audio sound a bit fuller and richer without sounding like a Max Power t**t from 2002. Big thanks again to @Daz... for cabling advice and assistance, too.

Water collecting in boot/rear seat area. Any help greatly appreciated!

I had very similar on the driver's side at the rear. Leaking in, ever so slightly when there was driving rain - collecting in and around where the jack is usually stored at the back corner. Like yourself, took loads of trim out, silicone'd areas - but it still came in. Turned out that there...

    Forza Horizon 4

I think for me with racing games such as these, you really do need the gamepad to play them. As you say, wheels just feel like an afterthought and completely disconnected in every sense of expectation between you and the game. Games like Forza, Wreckfest and DiRT Rally 2.0 - I've always used...

    Arma Reforger

I simply don't go on anything that's effectively PvP any more. The toxicity is off the charts. It used to be all a bit tongue-in-cheek with the occasional rimjob shouting their mouths off - but nothing like it is today. PvE with randomers is about as close as I get these days.

    [PC/XBone/PS4] Warframe

It does look different over time - and very much different from the first posts I put on here. As to what is going on - I've no idea. It gets more abstract and obtuse with every update!
