Haha, funny enough i explored that route too.
I haven't seen an early original RS2, but i have seen one of the latest spec ones circa (August 2020) and the build quality was absolutely appalling. I wouldn't have paid £120 quid for it, leave alone £1200! The finish on the carbon was poor both...
Haha, shes filthy at the mo bro. I'll get you some fresh ones this week.
Actually seeing as we have some nice weather, im going to uncover the Cayman and use it for work, so WZD can have a few days off :)
They're a little bulkier but id deffo go with something you can swivel. Makes putting them in and out so much easier.
We bought a pair of Britax Romer Dualfix Isize mate. I've not put one in the 182 but you're welcome to try. Goes from 6 months to 4 years (or 18kg)
Nothing much to report on WZD, still doing the daily stuff. Caught a lovely sunrise on the way to work last week so stopped to take a pic. It’s nice to finally see some sun and know that longer days and warmer weather is ahead.
With that in mind I ordered some new shoes (R888R’s) for the X3MAs...
He will, its a £15-17k car. Silver or not, its a brand new 182. So effectively you could buy it and do your whole Clio ownership again, which is amazing.
You'd lose that in 2 years on a PCPd Golf etc.
As they say, find another one.
Not surprised to hear these comments. Many of us own/owned significantly faster and more powerful cars. Yet still own a 172/182.
Utter brilliant fun and reminds you what driving fun is all about..
Best of luck :0
Fair play if that’s what makes the fella happy. But I think he will be severely ill from dust inhalation before the car is ever finished. He often posts photos and I often have no idea what part of the car I’m supposed to be looking at.
I don’t personally see the point, but guess we all like...
Mine is actually in the footwell behind my drivers seat because the poles are too low on the Jon Fiz bases. It’s actually the base it would foul as opposed to the seat. I wanted the Focal sub, but it was bigger again and less powerful.
The sub is a sealed unit with built in 300w (150rms) amplifier. So no issues there. I cut into the ISO adapter and converted it all to bullet connectors. So that I could remove the amp at any time and revert it all to oem.
With regards to your rear speaker/sub question, this is dead easy. Add an RCA splitter cable that will allow you to fire 2 sets of RCAs from one pre-out on the back of the HU.
One set for the sub, and the other for the rear speakers. The Inphase sub has an adjustable low pass filter LPF built...
@MLB Just recorded this for you quick when i pulled up at work.
Nothing fancy, just playing off the radio, sub on, vs sub off.
IMO the sub makes the biggest difference of all. The OEM speakers will play a large range of frequencies and the Focals do the same, just harder, louder and clearer...
Headunit to Subwoofer:
RCAs to subwoofer
Remote on to subwoofer
Battery +tive to subwoofer
Gnd to subwoofer
Headunit to amp:
RCAs to Amp front
RCAS to amp rear
Amp power out Front left to LH front crossover power in
Crossover out Front left to ISO wiring (runs the mid driver)
Crossover out...
Fair point, however, I don’t use the rear seats at all and never have so pointless carting them around. I like the sound of the exhaust and the way the car feels inside without the rear seats.
I just wanted to improve the rattles and buzzing of some of the panels. These would be there...
