Few from our TurboRenault photographer- full set of 154 images and the video compilation in the TR shop if you want the full lot it's only a tenner, or a quid per full res picture sent digitally.
Full res is ~4 to 7mb and the first pic below as an example is 4236 x 2824. Have a browse :)...
Actually, you should know, its quite quick... I know this because my 21 is a rapid car and he reeled me in on the straight (and he's a talentless t**t behind the wheel too :) )
Then he is a dickhead
Is there possibility to swap him over please Ron? I don't think he will arrive in time for the am session, he's coming from Croydon, South London.
Confirmed, he says he booked Afternoon, I defo told him to book afternoon, so he should be on Afternoon.
....and if he's not on afternoon session how am I supposed to hand him his arse in his poxy 2wd R21 :D LOL
I find em pretty resilient. Mine gets brutalised every time I turn the key, it's there for exactly that reason, and if it wasn't reliable i'd not keep it.
I've broken a gearbox on track and replaced a lot of stuff because it was old and needed doing (it's done 147k) but it's a track veteran...
@Sunglasses_Ron i'm pretty sure Lee Atkins from TurboRenault is supposed to be on the afternoon session bud, can you switch him over? I'll check with him now.
How are you doing for numbers? I have a mate interested in attending and with a bit of track time, but he is an Evo guy more than a Renault Sport guy. Would this be frowned on, or is it "the more the merrier"?
@Sunglasses_Ron your thoughts?
Cheers!
As everyone else has said, get a specialist to do the work unless you are very confident yourself. They're funny, quirky things sometimes. Even as a 20-year veteran sufferer of a Renault habit, and doing all my own work on various sheds (9 Turbo, 21 Quadra, ClioSport etc) I still tripped over...
Do what you want to do. If you invest in one and maintain it, it'll reward you. I bought my 172 in Oct 2011 with 129k on the clock and a failed PS pump.
I changed the pump, and while I was there I did a full belt & dephaser service. I also changed the rear shocks because one was goosed.
I...
Sadly I sold this last year after a decade of ownership (pic taken @ Blyton actually), 21 Turbo powered on slicks, caged, 820kg.
But I will be in this:
If it rains i'll be laughing!
Edit: Clio vs Clio vs Clio vs Clio (x10) vs R5GTT vs R21 Turbo vs R21 Quadra vs Megane R26 :)
Checking in from TR too, i'll be in the white Renault 21 Quadra putting the Megane in it's place ;)
Indeed, gives me time to use some of the Turbo torque to reign in you rollerskate driving Clio boys...
The clutch, if it's like every other Renault with that style box, will likely be held on with six 6mm allen headed bolts....easy to get off.
Take care though, to-
-Get the release bearing back on the clutch fork right before you reassemble
-note which way the friction plate offset goes when you...
Camshaft seal. So yes it matters, oil could get out or dirt could get in.
You dont need to remove the rocker cover, the centre of the metal part of the core plug is missing, so just poke something through the soft rubber in the middle and pop it out. Don't go all axe murderer on it or...
Look into what you're doing first, I just built a 4-pot, 330mm conversion for my R21 for under £600 (If you dont include the bigger wheels ive had to buy lol). All brand new parts too. Are the Megane calipers radial mount or have they got standard style mounts? If the latter, it'll cause you a...
Ah...I thought they were a little smaller than that. I was going to suggest R21 TXi front discs @ 285mm, with the right 4-stud and spigot. Not worth it though!
You're still assuming that I did stress the belt when tightening. Which I didn't.
I understand your point though, thankyou, and it may serve as good advice to others (although im not sure the attitude is all that necessary?)
