    MarkCup's BMW M140i

I've now covered the same total mileage that I did in my RS in this thing, 19,300 miles, and I've not had one single hint of a thought about getting rid. I think that says a lot!

    M135i - Attempt Number 2

I did 15k in mine over its first year and I expect there'll be a few k more this year. Economy wise they're really quite good...far better than my NA Clio 200 ever was! Mine's manual too so a good 2-3 MPG worse than the auto.

Wheels! They suit everything. Apart from Skodas.

    M135i - Attempt Number 2

I completely agree. I do 20 mph in 2nd or 3rd gear, give the throttle a stab on an empty wide clear sighted roundabout, get hilariously sideways, and then giggle like a child. All at under 30 mph. The only downsides I see in RWD come if you have no control of your right foot.

    M135i - Attempt Number 2

When the weather's a bit rainy it's 100% upside in a RWD car!

Not literally of course, but they were the cheapest of all quotes I got by £25 and I have a total excess of only £150.

That doesn't appeal to me, I like that mine is as unassuming as a 114d both inside and out. Plus, by leaving everything standard and not bothering with a remap I can insure with BMW, and they charge pennies. Also, my LSD is not viewed as a mod by them as it's a BMW supplied part. #easylife

    MarkCup's BMW M140i

That's exactly who I have in mind if I were to do it. Drive in, hand over £600, drive out in an identical car in ALL aspects except it'll pull harder than a Ferrari 360 and still return a fairly easy 30mpg. That's mental.

    MarkCup's BMW M140i

Nope. I'm 50/50 on that...my warranty expires early in March so it's an option, and a cheap one at that, to easily have it putting out 425bhp + 435lbsft. But I'm really not sure it needs it, I can't ever say I've not been able to scare myself silly in it!

    MarkCup's BMW M140i

In other sea level news I realised I'm rapidly approaching the point at which I sacked my RS off for being fragile. Time has goine by so quickly in this thing 😁

No need. She'll hit a tree soon enough while taking a selfie for FB.

The wind deflectors kill me. If they have a genuine purpose, as people who fit them claim, why do they only appear on cars like this. Awful hideous bits of pointless tat. Otherwise... Actually, no, that still looks sh*t.

    MarkCup's BMW M140i

This is as far as I got...admittedly not very far! I did also have an Oulton Park day booked once, but having driven the entire way there the evening before, in terrible snowy and icy conditions, I got to the circuit the next morning and it was closed and the day had been cancelled. They...

    MarkCup's BMW M140i

I'm completely with @massivewangers on this...and couldn't disagree more. To me a circuit is just a playground to explore my car. I like trying to nail a perfect lap, every entrance, every exit, tip-toeing up to the edge of what's available without stepping too far over the line. That never...

Which is exactly why I've booked a day there in April. I need to learn more about this diff without fear of a big mistake hurting too much.

    MarkCup's BMW M140i

Nope, just mostly airfield permiter borne circuits which is about all I have within easy reach on the South Coast. There's Brands Hatch of course, but meh, too small and congested as the Indy circuit, and I've never been even slightly drawn to running on the full circuit. It may not look it but...

    MarkCup's BMW M140i

Ah, I get you. It's run along the Goodwood pit straight along with using the tarmac run off areas on the main corners at each end. If I balls up or I'm non-competetive, I'll just chill and smoke some tyres.

    MarkCup's BMW M140i

I have a little bit of form cone dodging, back in my 172 Cup I used to travel to Smeatharpe for the Airfield sprint we ran over a few years...I have quite a haul of tankards. I get that it's all about the nimbleness though. The chap that won it overall last time was in a fettled Mini JCW GP or...

    MarkCup's BMW M140i

Reg swears by them on his 330ci and he's as tail happy in that thing as you can get. As I mentioned, it must be to do with all the torque somehow, although how that would work I've no idea. I have been using the back end, but how much can you really wear them over the winter...they spend most...

So, those Kumhos, they're done already after two months and eleven days. I'm not quite sure how :ROFLMAO: I'll not be buying them again. Ever!
