More progress today:
Headlining out.
Painted up the metal on the interior, not perfect, but it sits behind carpet, so it doesn't really matter.
Rear lights cleaned up with eraser, then waxed with FK100p and fitted to the car.
Christophers 200, 35 years between them :)
Well, bear in mind a full resto means dipping the shell, and rebuilding everything down to the last nut and bolt.
I've had done:
Welding in various places.
Full blow over respray (engine bay hasn't been painted).
New sills.
Smoothed front valance.
That all came to £1700, but I think he looked...
A while yet, I'd like it to be done by the time I go on holiday, so the last week of June.
Of course that will be just rebuilt, it won't be fully finished with a new interior and various other bits for a long long time!
After 4 weeks and 6 days, the shell has returned, with fresh Topazbraun Metallic paint :)
The sun is out today, and it really shows off the warmth and depth of the finish.
I'm over the moon, tbh!
Can't really tell in a photo, but the flake pop is awesome! It almost looks like it has...
This is a Chris Harris thread not, a 'new 200' discussion thread.
I think what Christopher means is that it's not special enough.
Remember the 200/197/182/172 looked excellent in comparison to their non-sport variants.
The new 200 isn't unique enough, mainly because it shares its body with...
As above, the Chester meet was last week.
There's a few meets coming up though, and more to be added soon.
Check the regional area for more information :)

Yep, I have a gazebo, but in the recent weather it would get torn down and do more damage than the car cover.
The cover will be raised off the car with (wait for it) sponges. I'll use new sponges in various places to keep the cover away from the paint. Sounds mental I know, but its literally...
Ahhh yeah, I thought this might crop up, I've decided against the BBS kit, I'll be getting it repaired and sold.
I just don't think it will work with the de-bumpered front end.
Im certainly eating my words, I know :(
I'd love to be able to leave it for weeks, but it really isn't an option. The garage isn't big enough for the car, so a car cover is my only option unfortunately.
LOL!
I expect it'll be a while before I can do anything to the paint, correction wise. Having said that, I don't think there will be anything to correct!
Its going to get all the Zymol though!
My car cover does exactly that though, it's more for when I work on the car, if it's raining and I'm under the gazebo, it'll stop any mist/splashes getting into the car and onto the (exposed) loom.
