I remember they were bloody noisy at speed, but god they had some grip! My real concern was the fact they're remoulds. I'd take wets and drys on a trackday.
Also, what are the maxsport RB 5 tyres like? I had some a long time ago and they were good, but they were remolds. Is it still the case and would they be worth a punt as a trackday tyre?
I used be to run off with the old mans tools by all accounts. His solution was a lump of 2x4, a hammer and a pound of wire nails. I believe I had black finger nails on several occasions!!
Hello all! I'm new to Clio's but by no means cars and modifying. I thought that I'd start a build thread for reference purposes for myself and also it's nice to be part of a community.
So basically a couple of months ago I approached a good friend of mine with the proposition of going dutch on...
Wow, what an epic build thread! I've read this from start to finish (well all of your updates) and to be fair, you've been truly inspirational. A lot of people have thrown in the towel a long time ago and myself included. There's nothing worse than the feeling of spending money good after bad...
I'm fairly handy in the workshop, so far his thread looks great. Good attention to detail. Ultimately i'd like not to go the whole hog as my E30 project should take priority however these things do snowball!
But the thing is with the chassis upgrades, each element is a smaller chunk of money. Yes ultimately you will spend more money but the development and progression of the car will continue on a more linear path
Thanks, decent coilovers are a decent quantity of money and in all reality the full benefit wont be apparent without supporting mods.
I probably should have been a little clearer in my initial question. I was angling more at specific modifications such as converting front wishbones to run...
So getting to the heart of it all. Time at the wheel and tuition are paramount, however beyond that were looking at decent brakes (Carbone Loraine?) Decent tyres and then suspension modifications. Clearly a lot of peoples response is to "stick a set of coilovers on it" however this seems to me a...
Afternoon all,
Going off on a bit of a tangent from the usual "what modifications should i do to improve my Clio's handling" question and to have the response "Do a search"! What would you suggest the most beneficial modifications you have undertaken to your own track/fact road car and also what...
Hi all!
I've been lurking in the background for a while but as of Friday this week will be the owner of a reasonably tidy Phase 2 172 FF. It has been purchased between a friend of mine and myself as a budget track car and has a few modificartions to help us underway, such as:-
Cat-back exhaust...
